  1. I have developed a crack in the main pipework of my exhaust half way between the cat and the back box. I have about 200 miles of driving to do on Xmas day so there is no way I can get a replacement in time. Does anyone have any suggestion for a temporary repair? Cheers Jon

    Paul Whiffin

Just seen him doing a top speed run on Men and Motors!!!

    Clarkson for PM

Fair play to him, in Reading the hoodies annoy me nearly as much as the bloody gypsies that are parked on the bloody roundabout next to the football stadium. It's the third time they've parked up there and last time they left 19 tyres and a caravan behind.
  4. I Like most of it. The pictures are very clever sometimes. I'd say it's a bit hit and miss but when it's good it's very good. Terry Tibbs is a work of genius. 'Talk to me'
  5. Someone just said that 'no-one is perfect' in a previous post. My good friend that sits across from me in the office did a linguistics degree and spent 4 years teaching English to foreign students. I asked her to read through this topic and she has confirmed that not one of the posts is written 100% grammatically correctly. Based on that I think we should all find something more important to worry about:d She is laughing about the fact that people on car forum are discussing grammar:)
  6. In Africa and South America I've never really had problems at any borders. Do expect to pay the odd bribe to border officials. They don't threaten you, they just say that's $20 please. You will know there is no $20 fee but it's best to just pay it for an easy life. This probably happened at 3 of the 8 borders I crossed in SA, and maybe 2 of the 6 I crossed in Africa. I'm actually off to Tanzania on Friday, I'm flying into Kenya so will experience the fun that is African borders again:-)
  7. I've travelled in a fair few countries in Africa and South America. Whilst in these areas I have met quite a few people doing the trips by car. As long as you have all your visas sorted then it's fairly straight forward. If you are American or travelling with an American then Visas and problems at borders are a lot worse in some countries. Might be worth watching 'The Long Way Down' They are doing John O'Groats to Cape Town on bikes.
  8. I do a bit of carp fishing. They look good, I have some that look like stones also. These seem to work well with a free running rig. The clear ones would be good for barbel as well.
  9. Are these dash panels a slighly different colour to the non-facelift? Cheers Jon

    Office smells?

There are two very fat ladies I work with that are constantly spraying themselves with impulse. I think they are aware that their fat bodies have bad B.O. Not sure what would be worse though, the B.O. or the Impulse clogging my eyes. Even my tea tastes of Impulse.
  11. I learned photography using a Canon EOS 50 SLR (not digital) it's a good camera. The lenses I have are 28 - 80mm and 75 - 300mm. These two give scope for most types of shot both scenic and wildlife. I would say from experiance if you want good wildlife shots then you really need 300mm of zoom and a good quality lense to get enough light in. If and SLR seems like a bit of a minefield then I would go for the Panasonic Lumix DMZ TZ3, it's optical capabilities give it a range of 28mm - 280mm. That's the best you will get with a compact. It also has image stability systems so you avoid camera shake at high zoom and at night.
  12. Nah they just make you drive even slower:d
  13. Mine were silver with black decals. They got far to dirty very quickly though. So now they are Blue with silver decals. This is on a silver car. SORRY POSTED THIS IN THE WRONG THREAD
  14. I saw one fly at RAF Fairford many years ago, it was very impressive. The only thing that topped it for me was the SR-71 which was always my boyhood favourite. Apparently it flew past at mach 0.95 (the SR-71 that is) that was something to see.
  15. I was 14. I still did my paper round the next morning, I only had 5 papers to deliver though as most of the delivery vans couldn't get to the paper shop. All the paper boys went well out of there way to go and see a house that had a tree right through it!!!
  16. Fishing once a week, mainly coarse but a bit of carping every now and then. Photography when I remember how much I've spent on equipment!!! Travel - Africa is the favoured destination. Off to Tanzania in Nov.
  17. No I love it too. Particularly liked the 'I'll shit in your tea' mouse sketch!
  18. The cost of a litre of petrol is very cheap. It's the tax that stings us!!!
  19. I may be interested in splitting a set as I bought the air con rings in the last MVP sale. How would you suggest splitting the cost?
  20. Correct, it was a bit of both. The white thing in the picture is just a reflection. Just been out and checked:)
  21. No idea of the costs involved. It was covered by a 3rd parties insurance.
  22. Top blokes at GVN couldn't be happier with the work done
  23. Here is me and mine She doesn't have an opinion on the Supra. She just thinks it's a silver car. She refuses to drive it because she can't see the end of the bonnet:-)
