  1. Ooops, kinda deserted my own thread. Thanks for the advice guys. The main game in question is 2142 Battlefield. Hes managed to set up a registration account from his laptop and use the info to play the game on the new PC. Sorted. As to sons course, he's doing Automotive Design MDes at coventry.
  2. Bloody eck. May as well mention that I asked my boss last year if he'd fancy a £1000 logo on a show / drag car. He's up for it as long as it never appears in print between the legs of a 'model'. People dont usually expect the 'find the sun' in places like that:d
  3. Obviously sorry to read this James. We really hope she pulls through, our very best wishes to her and your family.
  4. Er, AVG then. Thanks guys....bought my son a mahoosive Dell for his car design course, on the understanding it was for 3-D graphics only, NO internet. Most of his other prezzies are PC games requiring'internet connection' so I stand no chance. Cant see why we cant get registered on another machine first then use the game on the big one ?
  5. New PC, new games that need internet connection / on-line registration, we have no anti-virus software......could someone please recommend something we could download ? Thanks:)
  6. A Grow your Own Willy, and a Designer Beaver:blink:
  7. Result ! Wish my wife would buy me a night with Kylie. Never had an Aussie.
  8. Never met him, but its obvious what he means to a lot of you. Wishing the Dude type dude an early release, and our thoughts are with his family.
  9. Weve all just got up. Havent opened owt yet.
  10. I started last night. May as well carry on

    Absolutely great

Ahhh, bless....thanks Chilli. Your episode sounds exactly the same as me, except I suppose I'm lucky that the pipe runs around the house not under. Hopefully the insurance will sort it properly, otherwise I'll do it myself with neighbours help....he owes me a couple of hundred for the ding his kids gave the Supra, we could do a deal:) Meanwhile, alls sorted for the morning, and I'm guzzling Drambuie and Baileys

    Thanks Havard....fantastic offer, much appreciated.

It may come to this, if they replace the entire pipe from road to inside. Otherwise its first leak repaired free, subsequent ones chargeable. I want another bottle of Drambuie, now:)

It got a little surreal a few hours ago. The neighbour (adjoining semi) came round to tell me his landrover was sinking ! The water from the broken pipe had gone under my house through the air bricks and then through under his via the cavity under the ground floor. It has soaked through the gardens and totally waterlogged both his and my land. Shit with sticks on. We managed to turn the water off, and he helped me dig through the drive where the water guy pinpointed the leak. Three feet down and tucked under the sewage pipe, totally unfixable, the pipe is rusted to feck. He connected a hose pipe from his outside tap to my outside tap so we have a supply running in reverse for now. Still no word from the insurers, but it will be a new complete pipe run now, not a repair on a rusty pipe. The boiler wont fire without pressure incidentaly. Hope the foundations survive:(
  15. Oh crap...did I realy post that stuff ? Judging by the times, I cant blame the drink either:) Oh well, I'm far more sensible these days.

Feckanaaarse. Had the waterboard guys over, bad news is they cant fix it till next week, and they want me to sign up for a water meter in return, otherwise its £90 an hour plus materials. The guy thinks hes pinpointed the leak....slap bang in the middle of my drive, under a foot of concrete. At least he liked my car, and he knew what it was too. He asked me if it was my sons car though:p No word back from the insurance co yet. Boiler wont light up with water turned off, so we decided to leave water on, and hope for the best. Thanks for listening:d
  17. ....who populate this site and their families too. Best wishes to those I've met, and those I've yet to meet. You are all fairly large players in my free time now, helping me to unwind after a rather stiff, responsible and sensible day at work. Thanks for a funny and informative year. All the best, Ewen, Jane, Roxy and Kyle.

Combi-boiler, mains fed...water turned off, no heating. Just found out we are covered for underground pipe leaks on household insurance which is good, hope the water guys can sort it.
