Firstly, I'm sorry if these questions have been answered before, but I'm new to FI cars and am still on the steep learning curve
The thing is, I already want to tweak more out of my beloved soop. From what I've read here (and some of it did confuse me!), a boost controller can help as a first step. However, i've been told by a few people now that higher than standard boost on ceramic turbos is temping fate. With that in mind, I managed to get a quote from AET for uprating to steel internals - £650 EACH!!! I figured for that price I could maybe get a decent set of hybrids.
Also, does a decat pipe automatically 'up' the boost, necessitating a restrictor ring? Again, how would this fare with the ceramics?
If I increase boost, how will the stock injectors and wastegate handle it?
