  1. Hiya mate, thanks for the offer! I'm just on the outskirts of Derbyshire, Swadlincote by Burton-on-Trent.
  2. tbh, I'm not looking for massive power gains, it's just the cost of the single kits that got me interested. That said, I suppose you get what you pay for . . . I'd like to keep the stock twin turbo set up really, more for day to day drivability; my main concern being the strength of the cermaics. Looking at the cost of hybrids, I'd say AET's quote wasn't far off though.
  3. Cheers Jake I see that it's not such a simple upgrade - engine management, uprated fuel pump, new plugs and a possible turbo upgrade first for longevity I keep seeing all these "cheap" single kits on ebay - am I right in thinking I'd need a full new management set-up to run these succesffuly, along with fuel pump and injectors?
  4. Firstly, I'm sorry if these questions have been answered before, but I'm new to FI cars and am still on the steep learning curve The thing is, I already want to tweak more out of my beloved soop. From what I've read here (and some of it did confuse me!), a boost controller can help as a first step. However, i've been told by a few people now that higher than standard boost on ceramic turbos is temping fate. With that in mind, I managed to get a quote from AET for uprating to steel internals - £650 EACH!!! I figured for that price I could maybe get a decent set of hybrids. Also, does a decat pipe automatically 'up' the boost, necessitating a restrictor ring? Again, how would this fare with the ceramics? If I increase boost, how will the stock injectors and wastegate handle it? Thanks for your time guys, it's much appreciated!
  5. I was the other silver coming the other way, just outside of Woodville. Tried to flash back but waggled the windscreen wipers at you instead and settled for waving sheepishly! Lovely looking mota too!
  6. You could always use a piston spreader, about £10 from Halfrauds
  7. Congrats mate - they're great cars aren't they?! I see you picked the best colour too
  8. Realised last night that there was only one screw holding the top bit of the dash in place. Said screw is now lost forever down the back of the dash Don't really wanna go to Mr T as their prices will be extortionate (experience of buying plastic clips for the celica!), and screfix don't seem to do anything similar. Cheers!
  9. Can anyone identify the large black lump at the top right of the engine bay for me? I've noticed that when the engine is cooling down, it makes some strange sounds, as if air orliquid were escaping from it. I've had a look over it, and can't see any leakage though. Is it something to be worried about?
  10. Go for nitrous If you keep the install stealthy, he'll never know!
  11. Just got an HKS Type S fmic core from ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7990159398&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 (is this a member selling it btw?) Can anyone tell me where I can get some cheap(ish) but shiny piping for it? The cheapest seems to be about £250 for the set at as far as I can see. Cheers!
  12. I'd say he may well beat you (though don't know how heavy those things are). Quarter mile isn't a proper race anyway - introduce a bend and he'll never catch you!
  13. I'm working at B'ham airport mate - whereabouts is the bloke with the bits? I don't mind going to have a look, but tbh I don't know a lot about soop parts, so wouldn't know what to look for!
  14. Picked the car up last night. I'm in love! Driving her is just a permanent grin factor!
  15. Are they the same size as the facelift bumper lights then?
  16. Cheers Nic. I'll leave the facelift lights for the time being, but do you know where I can get a clear set of pre-facelift lights?
  17. Can anyone tell me whether these look like the 95 facelift bumper lights (the orange bits on the fronT!)? Only i'm trying to get some clear ones instead. Car is a 94 reg so I have no idea what they might be! Sorry about the poor piccy http://www.celica-club.co.uk/cgibin/cpg132/albums/userpics/10985/pic3.JPG
  18. I was on a drunken ebay spending spree the other night Bought one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7989565781&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
  19. Haven't even picked up the car yet, and ebay beckons! Bought these last night: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7990461918&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT (and the harness to go with it!) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7989565781&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 (I had to - they look so damn sexy!)
  20. Just the bonnet unfortunately! The wheels are ACE ones, no idea what model. Took her out for a spirited test drive, and struggled to hide the goosebumps!
  21. btw, does anyone know what bodkit this is? http://www.celica-club.co.uk/cgibin/cpg132/albums/userpics/10985/pic3.JPG http://www.celica-club.co.uk/cgibin/cpg132/albums/userpics/10985/pic2.JPG http://www.celica-club.co.uk/cgibin/cpg132/albums/userpics/10985/pic1.JPG (sorry, I've dragged the photos from my account over at CCUK!)
  22. Ended up taking the missus with me (sometimes people who know sod all about cars can be great for finding faults!) to see the car. Followed the guidelines from the FAQ, even had a look undernath. Despite the high mileage (78k miles), there is no smoke at cold idle, warm idle, or WOT even on the road, and the only fault I could find was a few rust specks where the skirts join the drivers side bodywork. Had a good think about it, and then I BOUGHT IT!!! Pick her up either Wednesday or Thursday, can't wait! All for the princely sum of £8500
  23. Hi guys, off to view this one (4th one down, silver) tomorrow morning - can anyone tell me if it's a good price, other things to look out for at that age, etc.? Cheers! http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW/cars_search.asp?modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&make=TOYOTA&model=SUPRA&min_pr=8000&max_pr=&mileage=&agerange=&postcode=de11+0xe&miles=60&max_records=50&source=0&photo=1&sort=3&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH
