  1. Think the first Ferrari was an F430, but I could be wrong. His engine sounded great. Managed to stay ahead for quite a while; wasn't going to move over just because they were Ferraris. They only got ahead of me because I took the inside lane at a roundabout & got slowed by a lorry; they went round the outside - which was where they decided to get toe-heavy, & I kept with them. There was a (new) Mustang & some top end BMW behind me who disappeared in my mirrors when we went for it. Childish, but fun! No point having a fast car & not driving it fast in the right conditions, I say! ps: why can't BMW drivers ever use their bloody indicators...?!
  2. Hello there, I was the fella you spoke to whilst we were sitting in traffic. I'd just been to Santa Pod for the FIA European Drag Finals (really good, by the way). I'd been having some fun with the two Ferraris in front of me; think they were a bit surprised I stayed with them. Did you go their way & have some fun too? Ps: I like your body kit; what make is it? All the best, Rupert.
  3. Wed 19th Nov, came back to my Soop to find calling card under my wiper. Didn't see another Soop anywhere, so 'fess up, who was it on here then? On another point, I note that I can usually get my front splitter over the curbs in Waitrose, but forget it in Sainsburys...! They must hate body-kitted customers. ahem!
  4. Sounds like me matey, on my way to Abingdon. The kit's Do-Luck; & no, I can't see out the rear window past that wing! :-)
  5. I've just noticed a strange 'electronic buzzing' sound when I turn my steering wheel to the left or right. This occurs whether I'm moving or stationary. However, it tends to come & go; & is sometimes un-noticeable. Any ideas anyone?
  6. Spotted last moment today in Witney around 4.30-ish. I was turning off towards Waitrose in my black Do-Luck Soop; suddenly realised that I'd ignored you sitting behind me through my blacked out rear window. Sorry! Yours looked nice, what I saw of it. White or silver Veilside?
  7. That's a little under what I just had to pay for replacement clutch & flywheel, so sounds about right.
  8. You can really see the optical illusion in the last piccie!
  9. Gonna attach some photos of mine (if I can), so that it might help you decide...
  10. (Try again, as I got logged out after completing my reply to you!) I have that same spoiler on my Sup, & I wasn't too sure after seeing the photos (imported by Ben Linney at GT-Culture for me). However, I changed my mind when I saw it in the flesh. The photos lend a bit of an optical illusion to it. Wing is not wider than the body, & indeed cannot be for MOT reasons. However, if you are partial to seeing what's behind you in your rear view mirror, I should point out that the wing obscures the middle distance totally. Easy to lose even a Police car in it; trust me! The more lairy the body kit, the more that wing blends in with it methinks.
  11. This happened to mine when I first got my Sup. I found that the flat clip attached to the inside of the bottom part of the handle wasn't clicking into place properly. I got a knife & eased the clip part (which is a cut-out) out a bit. Tried it again & it snapped home. Never come out since, even when I was trying to extract my elderly, less than agile, somewhat heavy father out of the car recently. He had most of his weight hanging off the handle with no problem. If it's the clip, then it's easily rectified. Hope this helps.
  12. I noticed that their website link is dead too. -- It's like a shark in the water; you want to know where it is...!

  14. Thankyou! I have browsed this site numerous times in the past without joining, but felt I should really do so with my new Soop!
  15. Thankyou! Take it you've got a white Soop like my old dearly departed one then?!
  16. Best newbie?! Aww, shucks! Ta muchly!
  17. Cheers mate. You're up early, or not been to bed yet?! :-)
  18. Hey there, can you mail me a pass as well please. Ta! Rupert
  19. Yeah I have them. Smaller than standard. Took a few days to get used to them, but pretty happy with them. Take a look at http://www.gt-culture.com, & have a look at the black DO-LUCK kitted Soop: that's mine. There are a number of different angled photos, so you should get the idea. Do take into account that the kit makes the car wider, which may affect you perception. :-) Rupert.
  20. Hey folks, Any news or ideas what's likely to be happening at Santa Pod this w/end yet? (I hate not knowing!) Rupert
  21. After wrighting off my beloved white TT 6 speed manual Soop last July ('04), I thought I'd join up with my new Supra: still a 6 speed TT, but with a DO-LUCK kit, all in black. Other mods as well. Thanks to Ben at GT-Culture for all his help & work; did take a long time to get through the ESVA test though! Took possession Easter '05. Love to chat with opinions/thoughts on what I need to do with a recent import. :-) Rupert.
