  1. surely some other people have had problems like or know what it is,come on guys, mfs has the problem so im not imagining it,am i?
  2. i dont think its plugsas ive replaced them and gapped as recomended, also it dosent feel or sound like a missfire[the engine note doesent change during hesitation] but the symptems are like the overfueling as described in ianc,s thread link,so i will look into that, cheers tbourne.
  3. Do your revs drop to low level at all? not really ,the revs seem to climb steadily as normal.or do you mean if the car is reved while not moving.
  4. hi guys, had this hesitation for a while now, mostly when the weather is cold. Its more noticable when going uphill in 4th or 5th under part throttle or wot and only 1.5k to 4k rpm ie when the second turbo comes on acceleration is smooth upto redline.the problem wasent really there over the summer months but ive recently replaced my old intercooler with a cw/smic and both decats so im just under 1 bar.also changed plugs yesterday to ngk bkr7e and gapped to 0.9mm thinking this would cure my problem but still there. On the boost gauge im getting 0.8 bar then it drops to about 0.5 just before transition then upto just below 1 bar at 4k.tried 3 different types of petrol aswell ,still the same ,so im running out of ideas now any opinions would be very helpfull,oh and its a uk car, cheers in advance si
  5. sorry to hear about this chap, but it does remind me of the movie ferris buelers day off, they park his dads ferrari in a secure car park and the 2 dudes supposed to be looking after it rack up about 500 miles razzing around the city, anyway ide go bloody bonkers at them.
  6. hi mate,if the noise is coming from the bellhousing area it could be the thrust bearing, mine has a slight rattle when ticking over then dissapears when the clutch is pressed, hope this is any use to you.
  7. rob,i believe toyota put them there purely for better air flow ,cooling
  8. had the same problem on mine, you may have to adjust the actual catch probably up,theres 3 10mm bolts to undo then what i did was lever the catch up with a screw driver then tighten the bolts, worked for me anyway.
  9. ive just put some kyb agx shocks with jap springs on my uk car ,the ride is a little firmer but seem to have loads more grip, even in this crap wet weather we are having.
  10. hi matey, the book says 60k but i got mine done at 50,ive heard of some going just before 60k and its not pretty, expect to pay around the 200 mark using a toyota belt NOT some car spares crap, also dont scrimp on the fitting, the first "garage"i took mine too took 4 hours and couldent undo the crank bolt, next specialist i went too ,job completed in 2 hours so spend that little extraits worth the piece of mind.
  11. after a din unit to put some gauges in,or with gauges if there ok ,if anyones replacing or upgrading theres cheers bignum.
  12. according to chris wilson the second 02 sensor HAS to go back into the exhaust to complete the closed loop system on the uk cars ,im getting a boss from thor to get welded in,cheers simon
  13. forgot to mention ,you can always get your existing hubs machined if you know anyone with a lathe or a local engineering place they will only have to take a couple of thou off to sort your runout and be alot cheeper+use your existing bearings if ok.
  14. hi guys, this warped hub thing is very likely,i cooked my brakes on my first trackday replaced discs, pads, lines and fluid and the disc run-out was worse changed the discs again, exactly the same turned out hub flanges warped ,took the easy option out and got the discs skimmed on the car-sorted.only prob is when the discs are worn out need to do job properly, cheers num.
  15. changed my suspension last week and went out for a drive today to do some testing, the results are unreal. replaced the tired [couple leaking, knocking bla bla] uk shocks and springs with some kybagx shocks and j spec springs, the ride before felt firm but very bumpy now with the new stuff set on number 1 its still firm but alot smoother you can actually feel the suspension working, soaking up the bumps it now makes b road driving a dream because the car feels alot more stable especialy on corners.the 4 settings really do make a difference allthough number 4 is a bit to harsh on the roads by me.the jspec springs have lowered the car by about half inchall round also the car is better under braking as it doesent seem to nose dive as much. so for £430 quid its worth the upgrade if your shocks are on there way out. The real test will be on the track, donnington next month. £410 kyb agx from gaz at envy cheers, great service,, £20 j spec springs sorry about all the text, got a bit carried away cheers bignum.
  16. getaway, how do u know your tank is bad, whats the symptems just out of interest cheers bignum.
  17. hi,you should be ok with stock tyre widths ie 255 35,,rear 235 40 front.a 265 will be too wide on 8.5 inch rim.
  18. looks like a great track car, next best thing to a le man motor also some nice lines around the circuit in about 1 min 20 i average 130,s in me supe but hope to bring em down[suspension+slicks] nice 1
