  2. The red pads are okfor the odd trackday, but you do need to get some heat into them before they start to bite, so at low speeds on the road they are a bit vague, in mho

Picked up my blue print water pump yesterday and got started on it, just noticed on the new 1 theres a small pipe fitted into the bottom of the pump housing its metal like a water or oil pipe thing, but on my old 1 theres no pipe, so how many types of pump are there, any answers but be much apprieciated, cheers simon.
  6. Hi, nice easy one for a friday, ive just picked my water pump up and are looking to fit it at the weekend, just 1 question, do i need to put any paste on the gasket behind the pump or do i just rely on the gasket, cheers in advance simon.
  7. HI guys, after changing coolant in the week (4 life) ive just noticed a leak, it seems to be coming from the water pump bearing, why has it started leaking? and is the pump easy enough to do? cheers simon.
  8. I cooked 2 lots of stock brakes on the track before switching to some red dot 20 groove discs and fast road pads, ive done at least 10 trackdays on these with no fade and no warping, so they work for me.
  9. rather you than me m8, it is nice to have a decent area to work in tho, hope it all goes to plan.
  10. cheers for that rob, that will keep me busy tommorow then.
  11. Hi guys, is there a route into the engine bay on the nearside, as ive just picked up a dual oil temp/pressure gauge from spa, nice bit of kit too, the sensor cables arent long enough to go the normal route down the drivers side wheel arch and i dont fancy cutting and joining the cables, cheers simon.
  12. Hi mate, i had a bit of a misshap with some of these tyres on my supe, lost it coming off a roundabout and went over a central reservation ooohhh, probably my fault tho, i did find them to be abit snappy though, you know all or nothing in the dry but good in the wet, im now on p-zero rosso they are softer but more progressive if pushed, i hope this lot helps any, cheers simon.
  13. sorry to here about this my friend, you say your temps where high like 130degrees/c, was this oil temp if so how did it go that high , are you using good quality oil and lastly what mileage are you up too, good luck anyway.
  14. hi jay, i fitted some agx shocks with j spec springs on my uk car, they only lowered it by half inch and the ride is fantastic on road or track, so id try the j springs.
  15. hi chris good info there, now i know a bit more about diffs, i learn something every time i come on this forum, what i was going to say was when i lift off the loud pedal i can here a slight whining noise coming from the rear of my car, is this normal? i only noticed it after changing the diff oil i put in some motul 75/90, oh and the cars a uk tt 6 chears simon.
  16. just missed the protester aswell, bloody muppet
  17. it does look abit early braking in the pic, but it did feel late in the car, bearing in mind i was touching 120 down there lol
  18. i use red dot 20 groove discs with red stuff pads and do a few trackdays, cant fault them, oh braided lines with some decent fluid helps aswell.
  19. Hi jonny, i have a uk 6 and had exactly the same problem last week on thors dyno, im bpu full decat, c/w smic with a manual boost controller fitted in the car.I had it reading 1.1 bar on my gauge but on thors it wouldent go above 1 bar even if we turned the controller all the way out (open), pete even tried 1 of his valves under the bonnet but the boost still wouldent go up, so we thought i must have a leak somewhere. Strange tho on the way home i turned my controller up and got 1.2 bar easely, so ive turned it back to 1.1 and see how it goes. mine also made 360 at just over 1 bar so happy with that.
  20. have you had the battery off, mine keeps stalling during relearn process.
  21. I wish id read this when i did mine, i got soaked in the stuff and when the missis brought me a coffee into the garage i got up and was staggering around hi as a kite she thought i was pissed:D
  22. also these cars where fitted with 17" wheels for a reason,,,, ok fit them 19s but dont expect it to handle very well.
  23. got a 6, never had this problem, did get 2nd instead of 4th at 110 on a trackday tho waaaaaaahhh oh shite, lol:rolleyes:
  24. somethings definately wrong there my friend, i got my uk manual fully decated + wilson side mount and just hit 1 bar and if maintained for a couple of seconds would then hit f/c and you know about it when you do, so as john says check everything twice.
