  1. J spec turbo's are ceramic and slightly smaller. Uk turbo's are steel and, well, bigger.! J specs cant really handle over 1.2 ish bar. The ceramic blades shatter. Can be swapped straight over i believe. However, uk engines ran 540cc injectors too, so putting uk turbs on j spec, you would need to upgrade fueling.
  2. Erm, jez cos i'm jez, and babes cos i'm, erm........ always surrounded by them. Ok thats completely false. Was a school nickname. Then again, so was tosser!!

    MkV again

Think this looks cool from the front wheels back. Front end is puke inducing!!
  4. I think the confusion came from not resetting the ecu first. Basically i took fuses out for a min, then re-checked faults. Main ecu had no faults, abs had none, but trac had the 32. And now i know what that means. Ian, you're a technical legend!!
  5. Ok, further to working out the reason for low boost (rubbish stock re-circ dump valve and hole in intercooler), i looked a little further into my unknown mods done before i bought the car. I have found a box wired into my ecu. It looks like an FCD, but some identification would make me feel better. It is labelled 'TRL vfcc'. Is this a fcd and is it any good??
  6. Ok, i just tried again. No fault codes on main ecu, but trac ecu fault seems to be reading 32, not 37. Does a 32 exist on trac? I think i'd had a glass of red wine last night, or two.
  7. Erm, No i didnt read it right. It was a 42.
  8. Nfu is the national farmers union. Try tesco's. My first supe was an n/a manual, had no ncd, and it was cheap as chips fully comp!
  9. Jake, i found a t/c and auto box lying around today. If you need it, let me know dude. Hopefully yours is ok!
  10. Anyone know what fault code 37 is from the t/c ecu?!
  11. Excellent, i'll do that cos i'd like to know what pipe it is! (so would everyone who's heard it so far!!) In the mean time i'l check plugs and fueling tomorrow and let you know what i find. Is there anyway to tell if a restrictor ring has been fitted, cos i'm just taking someones word for it?!
  12. Yeah the actual o/d works fine. Clearly changes up and down as you switch the button. Changes up to forth fine, Light stays on as it should when o/d is off, but when its on the light flashes like a pervert in a rain coat! Drivin me nuts!!
  13. It may sound weird, but i dont really know alot about my car! Its my third supra but my others have been standard and i have been able to mod from scratch. The exhaust is a straight through 4 inch stainless pipe, but it has no name on it other than the tag saying jasma sr, with a 5 inch backbox, the fuel cut is the one everyone raves on about (cant remember the name), and i persume its running a stock fuel pump. I guess i need to get in my tank tomorrow and check! Anything else i should look for?
  14. Cheers ian . After carefull consideration i'm going to take the technical route to problem solving..................take all the bulbs out!! LOL
  15. Just looked at the small pipes around the turbo area, and they're all cracking and really hard and brittle. It seems to have gone pants under boost since those hot weeks in july. Anyone else had probs with stock pipes going hard? As far as i know, it has a restrictor ring, FCD, and the pipe is a fully de-catted stainless jasma sp. Otherwise, fairly standard.
  16. Can anyone translate 9 and 14 psi into old money? Ie, Bar? Also can anyone tell me how a de-catted car should boost? Basically first turbo is at 9 psi then at 4000 rpm second turbo comes in and stays dead on 14 psi. But between 3000 and 4000 rpm the boost seems to drop off a touch. Does this sound right?
  17. I have the same problem with my o/d light flashing. Just done a fault reading as described, but the Mil exclamation mark doesn't flash! The 'ecu' warning light however does flash constantly. A little help please!!
  18. I'd guess with rltc (my next purchase from leon!) the launch will be so much smoother. I'm reckoning 0.2-0.4 secs. Correct me if i'm wrong guys?!
  19. I always do standing starts in manual mode. Timed using drive and using manual, manual was 0.4 faster (4.9) obviously without the (dangerous) stock traction control on. Her ass wanders over a bit, but man it looks and feels great taking off sideways!!
  20. Must admit, the huge amount of rubbish did cause for concern!! Am i right in thinking that at the jap show in june, young army cadets were constantly wandering around picking up rubbish? Chavs attract rubbish, rubbish attracts rats, rats attract the plague, then we're all dead anyway! Lol
  21. Hey, chav fest yes, but it was actually a really good day, for me and the missus! Its difficult to resist 'the pod' whatever the show...........especially when you live ten miles away from it!!!!!! Terry, diff destroying supe was manual. It almost looked as though the diff had come away from its mountings, shattered under the stress and devastated the back end. Perhaps somebody didnt do the mount bolts up properly?!
  22. John, i really get the feeling you dislike chavs? Personally, i think they are incredibly intelligent young people. Who am i to judge someone that paints their 1.2 corsa with yellow hamerite household radiator paint, and fits it with 13 inch tsw venoms. Each to their own i say. Tastefull. On the other hand, the knob head in a hoody that stubbed his fag out on my hand needs a good kicking!! Lol.
  23. Proper chav fest!! 'yeah, but, no, but, yeh but, shuuuup!' Must av missed u john!
