  1. As some of you on here may remember, i bought my supra crash damaged last summer, hoping to get it straightened out and on the road for this summer. Well, time is ticking by and it's not on the road yet, although the damage is repaired and i have (nearly) all parts to build it up. At the moment it's sitting on the drive waiting for a coat of paint and m.o.t! The plan is to prep and prime it myself (i have bodyshop exp) but i do not have anywhere suitable that i can top coat it and guarantee a good finish. There's no way i'll have the cash to get it coloured in the next couple of months, but am so desperate to drive it this summer. Now i recon i could get it in primer fairly soon, and hopefully wont need to much for m.o.t. What i'm conidering is giving it a quick coat of matt black just so it's all one colour and i can get it on the road. I don't want to look like a pikey, but i do so want to drive it this year What do you think?
  2. That looks real nice. Proper factory fit! What size guage is that to fill that hole so well? I'll be needing one at some point.
  3. A mate of mine is in need of 4 wheels for his recently perchased MR2 Turbo. Doesn't matter if they have tyres on or not. Based near Norwich. Pm me if you have any or know of someone who has a set laying around.

    Motorcyclists

Sorry to hear the bad news about your friend jezzy. I've been brought down twice by other peoples incompetent driving. When i was 17 a car pulled out between two parked cars on a 60 limit road. To avoid him i took to the verge, hit a telegraph pole, broke leg/arm/collar bone/ribs. A few years later riding through town (30mph) a guy pulls up at a junction to my left, i saw him look in my direction and then he just turns right in front of me. I tried to go around him but BANG!... He t-boned me sending me superman style over his bonnet. Thankfully at 30mph wearing good gear it's not too bad. Worsed injury was where my leg got crushed by his car against the bike. I know this is not the same as overtaking on cross hatched areas, but it's the same in that you really do have to look out for other peoples stupidity, especially on a motorcycle with your cloaking device activated. Once again, sorry for your mate.

    Any Welders on here?

Cool, I don't know if they're building tanks or not!!! The guy mentioned that they do small batches for structures and such like. I've seen the job advertised in a few places now, so don't really hold much hope of getting it job with my limited experience. They're bound to get a lot of applicants that know the score. Just hope i don't end up welding my watch to the bench (only kidding, i know you couldn't really do that!)

    Any Welders on here?

Nice one alex, cheers. edit; Yeah, nothing worse than an overheated tip!!!
  8. I've applied for a job at an engineering company as a mig welder. They have invited me to go do a weld test on Monday! Now i have plenty of experience mig welding cars on thin gauge material, but these guys are welding 20mm+. I really dont know what differences to expect using this sized material and was wondering if any body could link me to any online guides or demonstrations or any general how-tos for mig welding. Like i said i've lots of experience gained while working at an auto body repair centre, but have not done any official courses. Any help or advice greatly appreciated. I'm wondering if i'm going to make a complete tit out of myself!!!

    Fooking badgers

    How was the Badger?
  10. BBC ceefax, page 555. Good luck.
  11. There are only 4 bolts that hold the spoiler on! You will need the absolute minimum of mechanical skill to re-fit this yourself (if nothing's broken) to save paying a garage. Use Loctite if you are worried it might happen again.
  12. Nice one. There's a plastic cover on this one too, so i'll have a look under that and see if there's some sort of pressure switch. Maybe it's stuck which means its leaking while i'm using the sander and emptying the tank. This could also be why the motor never cuts out.
  13. I've borrowed a compressor so i can use an Orbital Sander on my car. According to the specs it should run the sander ok, but after 10 seconds use it drains the tank and i have to wait for it to refill. The compressor is 8.1cfm - max 8 bar Orbital Sander consumption 6 cfm - 6.2 bar There is a fault with it that i know of, but don't know whats causing it. The motor never cuts out even when it reaches maximum pressure! It sounds like a dump valve as it blows off down to 80 psi, and then fills back up to 120 psi and then repeats..... Any body know about these thing?????
  14. That's good news mate. Be seeing you in a TT soon then
  15. I'm in wymondham near norwich. Mt car's not on the road yet though so you wont see me around ........yet
  16. as above mate, trying to send you a message. Will try again later.
  17. Toyota will sell you these for under £7 a pair. I got some on saturday!
  18. Why, because anybody that goes out of their way to make life difficult for others on any scale, deserves retribution. Imagine if this site went down for a couple of days! All the people in the middle of perchasing parts from other members unable to communicate, all the people trying to log on to desperately search the tech forum to try and find out why their car wont start, all the traders that have paid to advertise losing out on business, jamiep unable to host cool videos of himself mono wheeling on his new beast...............i could go on! This little shit stain deserves a right royal kicking.......and you know it!
  19. Bit of a strong view on this one......... Someone should find that prick and break all his fingers so he can never use a keyboard again.

    MACRO=Rubbish

So pi**ed of right now. Bought a small angle grinder from Macro a couple of weeks ago for use on my supra, and it's bloody s**t itself after about 20mins use. It's a Black and Decker so i'd have thought it would be ok. It's all making sense now though, this is the 3rd electrical appliance/tool i've had from them and the 3rd to go wrong. The first was a PS2 which went wrong in no time, they replaced it and put it down to bad luck. The second was a JVC head unit and 12 disc changer that i installed my self. After a couple of weeks it started cutting out at a rediculously low volume, and has no bass quality at all. I doubted myself on this on thinking i'd wired it up wrong so didn't return it. (mistake) And now this! All the gears have gone inside, you can feel it when you turn the disc. I was only lightly cleaning off a bit if pain from a body panel, so not giving it large at all! This of course means that instead of spending the day getting my car ready for paint, i'll be fighting my way through city traffic so i can have an arguement at Macro. I'm never going to get this bloody car on the road
  22. In need of the above. I know there is a few people breaking cars at the moment, so if you have one available please drop me a pm. Cheers.
