ian ignore previous post i didnt see tc and e1 in the engine bay diagnostics port at first but the code is 36 does that shed any light? thanks for your help so far

hi ian thanks for the speed reply . ive checked the main ecu code thats fine now codes showing just constanly flashing , i followed your procedure from the previous post: 1. Turn your ignition *on* 2. In the diagnostics port, unplug the short connector from the bottom right (it's a bit of metal that joins two pins) 3. Use a jumper wire on pins TC and E1 4. Your ABS warning light will now behave like the check engine light, as in: am i right in thinking its the diagnostics port located on the dash part under the streering wheel? and what do you mean by the bit of metal joining two pins? is that in the diagnostics port in the engine bay? thanks

Hi when i was driving on the motorway a few days ago my abs light came on and the slip control light was flashing. now everytime i start the car the abs light stays on and as soon as i drive above 3000rpm the slip lights starts flashing and continues to do so while the ignition is turned off. ive had a read through some previous posts and checked the abs ecu for any fault codes but it just stays permianatly lit and the cruise light starts flashing. ive rang toyota for a abs sensor as this seemed to be a fix from the past posts but they have quoted £99.88 inc vat which seems alot. any help or advice would be appreciated. i was mistaken its cannonball run not gumball. gumball rally goes from london to europe on to turkey then fly to america and that costs £40000 where as cannonball run which ive just checked out on the site is only £3300 + vat so going in for that year. so its not so bad after all would ahve been nicer for free thou. thanks for your comments

i really would like to think that jake but i dont think it was there were so many phone calls back and forth it wouldnt have been worth it for a prank. Hi All Things havnt been going too good recently but today at 6.15pm i had a call what made me think that my fortune had changed. Months ago i entered a competition for gumball rally, an all expences paid trip from london to paris to rome party every night and driving through the day. petrol paid for parties paid for everything. So th phone call started by saying it steve from a promotions group and the winner had blown his engine so it was down to ten people for the prize. The problem was i had to be in london for 8.30 tomorrow morning ready for set off so that wasnt a problem for me i had a handfull of people wanting to go so i gave the call back saying i was definatly in. now its 7pm and down to five people i was told and i was going to get called back, fifteen mins later the phone rings stating it was down to two and it was going to go to a flip of a coin. As you have no doubt already worked out i called 'tails never fails' well it did this time. i have never felt so gutted in my life if i was ever to be given a prize it would have been that. ever since ive seen it on tv i have always said that one day i would do it and to be so close to having the chance of going in the supra and losing out was truely upsetting as im sure you will understand. I just wish I could have flown the flag for our club. Cheers all a very disappointed Max

hi chris Im pleased to hear your having as much fun as i did i changed mine a couple of months ago and it was a nightmare those clips also gave me hell. just make sure you have all the main dash srews (the gold coloured ones with the large washer near the head) in place when your done because i think i missed two of these and the dash buzzing like mad on the motorway. I also had to do mine twice because like a complete when i was rushing to get it all back together so i could get out that night i forgot to tighten the clip round the top of the matrix hose, to make things worse when i realised it was leaking again i took the top glove box out and could see the clip i didnt nip up :swear:but i as know it ALL has to come out again. how i didnt petrol bomb the car that day i dont know, but looking back on it now i suppose it was a good thing. Good Luck and for christ sake tighten them clips, i dont think i could bare for someone else to go through it
