I agree but its a real girls car.if it would have held out another few months that would have been fine as she lives in sheffield during week for uni in a right scrat hole, It was in perfect condition befor she moved since its been there, attemted to be broken into and vandalised three times. plus it needs sorting soon as shes driving about in my run about now.

i think that may be the best option i better get calling part finder. is it a hard job just to change the head or shall i stick with the another engine in option ? cheers

Hi all My girlfriend was travelling up the m1 in her 1996 1.6 tigra at around 80mph when the cam belt decided to snap:shock: it had a new engine installed at 31000 under warrenty by vauxhall by previous owners, it now has done 74000miles its sat at garage now and they have told me im looking at £750 to fix engine whats in. the cars in good condition apart from that and still selling for around 1800 as its the yellow mtv one. so its too much money just to say sod it and send it to the scrappers. Advice Please ???

you need to take both glove boxs out. next to the top one theres a little plastic cover to the side pop that out and theres a bolt hidden behind it these are the bolts which hold the dash in place.

if you look around the sides there will be a few bolts holding the main dash to the firewall. have a tug at the dash and you will be able to feel and see where the dash is bolted.I know its a bit vauge but ive had mine out a few times just be patient so not to snap anything. hope this helps:)

ive just done mine, the dye was £20 from ebay delivered. looks great took hour an hour and £130 saved
