Was makin a video today, when overtakin the truck on a slight bendy hill.....toward a41. Floored the car and lost the back car 3 times..it wacked against the kerb and damaged the left rear alloy.
Seriouly dented in...cannot be repaired..badly buckled...i got 17 inch 3 piece split rim "equip" alloys.
PLs does anybody have these alloys on their supe..or know of anyone who supplies them.
Any advice on on "equip" alloys!!!!!!

Thanks in advance!!

With a whack like that you should get a full alignment check as well.

Glad you did not do anymore damage or get hurt, you were lucky you did not lose it altogether.

RLTC may be worth considering.

I spent the whole of Chrimbo thrashing the cods off my slag. The lack of traction is ridiculous. It will spin the wheels in the dry at over 100mph. I need to sort out a TC system soon. Either I have to connect up a rear speed sensor to the Autronic, or Get Julian to re install my RLTC.

In Fast Show styley:

" this year I will be mostly trying to stop my wheels from spinning"

Anyone know a source for R compound tyres. CW??

Gaz and Terry seems to think that they r perfect drivers never lost the back..well one little mistake can lead to bad results...no one is perfect guys.
Just because the back got lost...dosent do evidence for me not being able to control a 600hp car.
Like I said one little mistake...also we havent had the car long..only about 3 months.

Well at least you are taking your time & easing yourself into it in perfect conditions. Seriously though, I have total respect for you pushing the MKIV, but they can bite hard, & with 600bhp are another ball game altogether.

BTW, never said I was a perfect driver, just much better than most ;)

The first line of you original message sums it up for me.

I never said anything about your driving.

I drive like Miss Daisy's chauffuer.

You've just demonstrated that your struggling to hold onto 300hp let alone 600hp.

As Martin says, your lucky it was just a wheel.

Over the last few months with the shit weather I must hear about of at least of 2 Supra's a week that have been stacked in some way, obviously a tricky car to drive with slippery road conditions. Get the car on a track/airfield day and learn its limits, thats what I say.

Right then, I've got to comment........................
"making a video" and "overtaking a lorry on a slight bend" ??

What was the video of then? safe driving techniques :D

We can all come unstuck in the Supra but the impression you are giving is that you were driving like a c*nt then expect sympathy because you wrecked a wheel?

Maybe I just got the wrong end of the stick, and no, I ain't a brilliant driver btw, just average!

Paul.

Usmann A
06-01-03, 19:05
Well....firstly i am not expecting sympathy..only posted thread due to alloy needs..the video was for home..just of the cars crusing also showed veilside 300zx..and was filmed from another car.
And the way you just put that....YOU DEFO GOT THE WRONG END OF THE STICK.
I SEE NO REASON TO GET COCKY.....

oh and it wasent a lorry..it was a ford van..with a blooody cage on it..forgot what they called??

i feel a little bad now that i was the one to make you come out of the closet usmann, but you do write your posts as your the one that owns and drives the supe, on here and on other forums, and it does cheese me off a bit, i might only drive a 270bhp mkiii and the guys on here obviously alot more, these cars need to be respected to keep them on the grey stuff and this is nothing you know about as you've never been behind the wheel, you go on about driving this and driving that and what you want to do and it just gets me goat up:devil: rant over

Paul

And trying to make out you drive one when you don't ain't BIG and it ain't clever (ask ya teacher:) )

I don't want to be a bastard and keep on at you, just try being a little bit more honest and the people on here will welcome you.

Just got a pricing of the wheel im after.....its 530 from the states...plus shipping.
Days r boring now...cant sit in the supe.....maybe a 5-6 weeks before we get the wheel.
What makes it even worse is a guy with a scoody challanged us to a race for the logbooks....he claims he's 430hp with no nos......
But ovbiously had to refuse.....feel even more gutted now:confused:

Do you think hed beat the supe...430 seems quite good 4 a scoob.....dont ya think?

Broke mine after a trackday, different wheels/tyres to on track and diffrent road surface. Trackdays are great but what you learn about your cars limits on them does not alway relate to what the limits are one the road. (BTW the road was dry when I broke mine, and I wasn't going that fast (the usual "been round that corner everyday fo the last 6 months with no problems"))

The rim is two piece, as for spokes you can have as many you want, diferent number each wheel, differnt number each day, the choice is yours. Just dont tell your mum you've got them or she'll make you break them up and put them backin the box at the weekend.
