A 200 CPI (cells per inch??) cat will be half as restrictive as a stock cat, plus you can get them in a 3" bore, which is about twice as wide as stock...so maybe a quarter as restrictive as stock then. I'm sure that someone will come along and shoot holes in that though, just to prove a point.

I asked my garage about these a while ago, and they said its cheaper just to put your 2nd cat back in for the MOT, and take it off again each time, than spending £250 on one of these.

Then again, I wouldn't mind having a slightly greener emissions overall, so I may consider one of these eventually! ;)

After saying all that, I believe they are @95% efficient. Reasonable compromise really. Surprised they aren't fitted as standard to performance cars.

That's good Nic but no good for me as i have the phr stage 2 single turbo and it has it's own down and mid section which is 3" and the connections are v band , So i need a universal cat like the one in my link . Do you no any one else that do them?;)

Weds do a Supra specific sport cat, see here

AFAIK the Supra cat is a ceramic brick, and these Street Racer sports cats are metal substrate. The metal is much thinner section than the ceramic, so provides less surface area to block the flow.

Also the number of cells per inch (CPI) is lower, so there is again less restriction.

If they have a high loading of active metals then they'll do the job of passing the MOT and absorb less power then the stock cat.

A pair of 3" in parallel would be best at it would offer virtually no loss over a decat pipe.

Thanks think ill get one , there's no room to put two in parallel tho , So the higher the CPI number the less restrictive;)

No, you want LOWER CPI - fewer cells per square inch means less stuff in the path of the gas flow.
