I finally decided to address it When going through the gears, especially the first 3 ones, a clunking noise occurs in the rear of the car, not very very loud but definitely noticeable. I would say it's in the differential area. No other symptoms.. leaks etc Any hunches on what it could be ? Car is a 6spd NA. Is their any bearings, spacers or augmentation rings that can be worn down after use so that the diff has more room to play? would this give the clunking noise? My gearbox mount is more than likely worn (makes a creaking sound when the gearstick moves a bit when going over bumps), so that may have something to do with it, probably not though. Another thing I read about before was the clutch not releasing fully so it struggles to get into gear.
