MrDriver
Oh my, should buy it this month then. Wondering what it is all about. Cause most of the time Clarkson is spot on with him commentary. - P -
Lbm
I'd imagine he gets very bored, very quickly, of people who know a lot of techy stuff("We asked some men in white coats with beards..." etc) He doen't care how they work, he just drives them... SILKYSMOOTH
On a slighlty different note...you know the petrol prices have 'shot up' dramatically lately. I was shocked to hear what clarkson had to say on last weeks top gear about how the price of petrol is very cheap considering how much effort goes into producing it, and then compared it to the price of a bottle of water. What was that all about, I am convinced that they are tapping into these forums and trying to persuade everyone that the the price of petrol is actually cheap...whatever! I was shocked to hear Top Gear mention this also. But then when you get to their levels of salary you tend to get that type of attitude. Fuel [oil] should be cheap because its a natural occuring mineral, the systems of extraction & production are well founded and its been around for years and years. And the companies that produce the stuff are the richest companies in the world market. It isn't cheap purely because the fooking government hike the price up through unfounded world disater global warming tax. It is the BBC after all remember... and they have a tendancy to be Labour's voice to the public. Maybe there have been 'pressures' placed onto Top Gear from higher up in the chain of command ?? SILKYSMOOTH
At least they made the point about the tax percentage which was about 60% odd I think..can't remember exactly. Considering that we only have another decade or so of Oil they better start looking for a replacement. When they get paid the 'big bucks' - they will say anything! AJI
Considering that we only have another decade or so of Oil they better start looking for a replacement. Thats the thing.... we don't have a decade or so of oil left..... we have hundreds of years worth of oil left !! The governments continual properganda seems to be mindwashing people. The only thing that is happening is that the easy to extract oil especially in the USA and in some of the Arab states is, well not running out per say, but not as abundant. This means that oil companies have to invest more money to buy the machinery and develop tactics to obtain the deeper and harder to reach oil. There is also large oil fields in areas of prohibited boundaries whereby oil drilling is not allowed. The government paid publicists turn these words around to say that our current supply of oil is about to run out.
ivan
Didn't Clarkson follow up his comment with something like "It'll tax all the poor people off the road and we can have more fun." ??
SILKYSMOOTH
I can't remember where I read/saw recently about the oil shortage in our current domains of supply, but it stated that our current supplies in these areas would only last the next 10 years, and that there was an obundance of oil in three other countires and I think Columbia was one of them, I am going to do some research again on this. THIS IS HOW WAR STARTS! The greedy controlling bastards.

Tannhauser
Maybe someone will be along to work it out... (I think it is over £1000 per Gallon) It's been a little bit and I've come along. I make it something like this: Printer cartridge is about 25ml. Price = £10.00 Price of 1 ml = 1000/25= 40p. 1 gallon = 4,546 ml So, cost of one gallon = 4, 546 X 40 = 181, 840P = £1,818 Though, of course, you're not paying for the ink by itself. Yes mate, 70p a litre from Sainsburys. I use two tanks, start the car on Diesel then switch over after a mile or so. Run it through a heater (I use a fuel 'cooler' off a Disco, works ok 'in reverse') to thin it out a bit. Bought an electonic switch-over valve from the US and mounted the switch on the dash. Job done. Make sure your car's compatible, as I think more modern common rail Diesels aren't. Search the web - SVO. I run a old 405, so if it dies I'm not fussed. Done about 12,000 miles on it so far with no ill effects. All the money saved ends up being swallowed by fuel for the Supra:d
