SupraD06
hi guys, just been driving the supra as it hasnt been ran in about a week, i drove it for about 5-6 miles running in low boost setting and it was fine then i got near the duel carridge way and set it to high just to give it abit of stick, the car got to around 4000rpm when it suddenly went bang and i lost all presure to the turbo's it just keeps whistling and doesnt have much pull without it whisling quite loudly, because its now dark and i cant find a torch im going to have to wait until tomorrow to have a look, could it just be an intercooler pipe popped off???? i wouldnt of thought it was the turbo itself cuz dont they smoke for a while before their dead??? any ideas please

colsoop
Defo an IC pipe. They pop off really violently sometimes and it sounds really bad the first time you hear it. Do you have an FMIC fitted ? Edit: just checked your garage and you do. It is probably the silicone hose behind the headlight, mine always used to pop off there. SupraD06
It is probably the silicone hose behind the headlight, mine always used to pop off there. yeah checked it this afternoon and it was the silicone hose behind the light, it had completely come appart at the joint, but its all back now running fine, thanks again guys

SupraD06
thanks guys, nice to heat th concern for another supra, have checked all other joints and they are in fully and tight, and yeah the clip seemed like it was jumping off the thread and going loose again when over tightened so put a new one on and seemed fine, glad it was just that cuz when it went it sounded like it blew a hole in the bumper, all good anyway thanks again guys

Guest Phillw454
Glad it's nothing major. I would of sh*t myself if it was me and I heard a nice big bang while driving a turbo.
loks
Mine used to "pop' off exactly there on a regular basis until I replaced the original rubber pipe. Then I smashed the car up and wrote it off. Never a problem after that.
