Clarkey
Restrictor Ring Or Boost Controller to keep the Boost Fixed at a stable 1.2 Bar Maybe new plugs ... eg - Iridium Plugs .. Denso's IK22s. Or some NGK ones. Check on mkiv.com Walbro recommened. ~edit~ Decent exhaust system.. Blitz,RSR,HKS etc etc
Homer
Walbro Fuel pump and change your fuel filter. Mine ran like a dog until I did these!!
Ian C
A colder grade of plug, NGKs are perfectly OK for this. Walbro pump You'll need a restrictor ring, but will only need a boost controller if you want to go over say 1.2bar but I wouldn't on stock turbos -Ian
Aerotop Dave
Okay... 1) Two pipes (I have the fancy exhaust already) 2) Boost gauge 3) FCD 4) Walbro pump 5) Restrictor ring (can't remember what eyefi said about this (it's his old car), I'll check my pm's) 6) Fuel filter 7) Possibly some new plugs So is fitting all that doable in a day? I thought I might take a trip over to Mr Wilson (he doesn't know this yet) but it's a good 2hr+ journey. I don't need the boost gauge actually fitted in the dash on the day, just as long as all the connectors are there.
Ian C
There is about 3 hours work there if you know what you are doing and don't get any pitfalls Deffo get the colder plugs - or the next post you make will be "I've had a decat and now I've got a misfire!" Being useful I can't remember the NGK designation for the plugs you need, I'm sure someone else or a search will show them up. -Ian
tbourner
I've got BCPR7ES in after my decat, no det or misses or anything. I think the 2 best ones codes are 3330 and 6097 but can't remember which one is the one I've got! Only £11 for 6 as well, but need changing every 6000 miles or so. Soo
Gatso took ours to Chris Wilson on Tuesday for exactly the same ! Two de-cat pipes (already had an RSR zaust) Restrictor ring FCD Cold plugs Studs sheared on getting the cats off, but no big prob and Chris had some in stock. He also had a quick check over and found the small breather pipes had gone hard, so replaced. Gatso was there about five hours ish. Def sounds louder and VERY responsive when pushed Gatso says Chris was a really nice bloke and we intend to take it back to him for next service / check over / cam belt

I can get all this done in a day, and the wifes off until into the New Year, so you might get fed as well
Ian C
Assuming you've got ramps and the exhaust studs don't snap it's not that bad. That's how long I think it would take me - but then I don't charge myself by the hour I've had the fuel pump out a few times, swapped the exhaust once or twice, changed the plugs a lot, and messed about with the footwell wiring more times than I care to remember though I didn't factor in the boost gauge - fiddly fiddly. -Ian

Aerotop Dave
Chris, if you're still reading this, I forgot one thing - I also need the starter motor fixing. I believe you do reconditioned units or something for that...?
