Guest Ponty Boy
I have decided that i'd like to start doing some trackdays. No the problem I have is deciding what to get for the track. I've ruled out another sup as buying a tt for track days is too much, looking to spend £2-3k. I have been thinking about a Rev1 or Rev2 MR2 turbo? Whats people's views on this and any ideas what would be best suited?

michael
Original MX5, should be able to get a track orientated setup on it for that cash, maybe even one with an SC or Turbo conversion. Nimble and cheap on consumables.

dangerous brain
Any cheapy motor that is easy to fix and will fit on a trailor easily. I know we all love jap cars but the others are ideal for tracking also. I'll put it this way a guy in an RS 1600i escort lapped me twice at Zandvoort track and thats a long track. The parts are almost free at most breakers yards with even engines being only a couple of ton. The cheaper and more readily available the spares are the more you can afford to break. There are quite a lot of track prepped cars about on ebay of all sorts as well.

dangerous brain
Too expensive and rare to source parts easily. For your first year or so I'd stick with fords, vauxhalls, or french motors that were mass produced and parts from other models easily fit. Thorin
Original MX5, should be able to get a track orientated setup on it for that cash, maybe even one with an SC or Turbo conversion. Nimble and cheap on consumables. That's what I want when funds allow Crap load of stuff available for them and dirt cheap, there's even a race series, MaX5.
