Gaz6002
I'm after a BOV that will stop as much compressor stall as possible for my single install. I've done a lot of searching and can't find a definitive answer although the HKS Racing Type II one seems favoured - I think B'have had one fitted after his SSQV? Are there any others that are up to the job? I have a PHR T61 and will run 1.4 bar. The reason I want to get one is I don't want the turbo to give up any time soon and also don't want to sound that much like a pidgeon if I can at all help it

Nic
I'd personally go with either the HKS SSQV or HKS Racing II BOV. Both will be fine at 1.4bar with a T61 turbo.

I hear different - the SSQV is not up to the task... people suggest putting a couple in there. Besides, I want to futureproof as much as possible for bigger turbos. I only want the one BOV and i want it to be up to the job for pretty much any turbo I want.
n boost
I have a greddy rs. It leaked like my bullmastiffs mouth when drinking water. A lot of pressure testing and silicone sealent were used, now sorted. I would personally stay away from the rs next time.

matt k
The HKS Racing is a very stiff BOV and will probably Compressor stall it's tits off on a T61 @ 1.4 Bar, I have a Greddy Type R and even on the softest setting i still get a bit of compressor stall @ 1.1 Bar on a T04R .96 ex. jevansio
I have a Tial (with 7 PSI spring I think) by the sounds of it won't be the one for you if you want to avoid the compressor stall.
Gaz6002
Hmmm maybe the new SSQV is the one to have then if the Racing version won't open enough
Wez
I have a HKS SSQV and a T61 sized tubby, I get very little stall, just a little flutter here and there which sounds better than the BOV itself

Now I will have to find somewhere novel to mount the thing as i'm running out of space on the intake side due to my airbox. I don't want it on the other side of the IC pipes as i'm going to have my WI plumbed in there. Decisions decisions lol.
Wez
Mine is on the elbow going to the throttle using a HKS elbow pipe. My WI is on the throttle body just before the plate after the silicon coupler.
Gaz6002
Interesting. I was going to put the atomisers for the WI on the IC pipe but may have to rethink that. Did the HKS elbow kit come with your BOV or is it a special order item?
Wez
The pipe came with a second hand HKS pipe kit I purchased, speak to Nic as HKS may sell them seperately.
