Paul
Yes, mine has it underneath. Wire brush any loose rust and then brush it on from a pot, not worth spraying, brushing it on its just fine.

Kranz
Jet wash the underneath after wire brushing & allow to dry THOROUGHLY i.e. over a hot weekend. You don't want to be trapping water in there
SupraAyf
Jet wash the underneath after wire brushing & allow to dry THOROUGHLY i.e. over a hot weekend. You don't want to be trapping water in there Good advice indeed;) I have just done my cars with the stuff - bloody fiddly when the gasket snaps on the waxoyl pump and it flies everywhere. Good job but you need to do it every year TBH (from what I have heard). It is great for getting in to the tight areas and also in to the chassis
Kranz
And if you use the pump up sprayer you'll get better flow & coverage if you heat the tub of waxoyl in a bucket of boiling water 10 mins before & during spraying it.
ukApache
i assume it needs to be on a lift to be able to spray it from underneath?
Kranz
i assume it needs to be on a lift to be able to spray it from underneath? Its easier, but you can get away with ramps if you do half at a time. And you'll need to put something on the driveway to stop it getting covered in waxoyl. Its very messy stuff! Paul
At what point do UK cars need re-treating ? I had mine done about a year ago, if not been done then I think it's a good idea to treat it.

SupraAyf
I think farmers earn too much (Joking!!! Keep producing nice steaks for us!!! Love you!...) You will find a good few of the farmers will get VAT back when they put everything through the company books mate - nice little discount eh!! My fathers farming pals had Saab Cabriolets, Porsches and other nice things on the vat-free books. There's always a way:innocent:

Steviekid
I spent most of a weekend under my car with a compressor, paraffin gun and a big tub of waxoyl. I went to the hassle of removing the seats and carpets so I could spray into the box sections from above and below.
farmer
hey, steviekid. where in d&g did you find a dry spot to wax oyl a motor or anything else that requires a lack of vetical H2o ?
mattanna
I have done mine and supra before some say you should not waxoyl older cars as you can trap rust in(Chris Wilson i think but don't quote me on that), however it cannot do any harm, ideally you need to get to every nook and cranny with engine out suspension off etc etc, but for the sake of about £50 worth doing! Kranz
Waxoyl will not 'cure' rust that is nore than a light surface rust. Any pitting or flakes and it'll not stop the spread. BUT its better than letting it continue rusting as it'll slow it down by excluding the oxygen. What you don't want to do is trap salty or muddy water under it as it'll never dry out. Ensure the area being covered (sepecially box sections) is clean & dry. Wash it out first if needed & then dry over a few summers days allowing plenty of ventilation. Also ensure drain holes are clear after treatment so any water getting in there is allowed to drain out.
