carl0s
I thought I was really clever when ADD was mentioned on the news last night and I said "it's fucking DISCIPLINE DEFICIT DISORDER. The kids need a good slap". Anyway, it seems I'm not the first to think up DDD, according to google, but I'm the first to register the domain name anyway. I remember seeing a website, or perhaps it was a youtube video, where these kids were shown as typical ADD/ADHD 'sufferers', and the school teacher or therapist or something just screamed at them "SHUT THE FUCK UP NOW", and they all sat down quietly Does anybody know the website, and have a link? Muffleman
I know a kid that genuinely has ADHD or whatever it's called, and it is a real problem for the mum. However, I would stick my neck out and say that 90% of cases are down to poor parenting\discipline\diet etc etc. 'My child is soooo badly behaved, I haven't tried anything at all and it's not working, must have ADHD' My little lad Jake would have these moments where he was not himself, an absolute toerag, misbehaved badly and couldn't be talked to - it was like he was 'on one' for a few hours ! We narrowed to down to him not being able to take sugar very well. So we knocked out Ribena, any sweets etc etc, and he is an absolutely lovely lad pretty much all the time now. I mean he's not yet 3 so it is his job to be a naughty little pita sometimes But THAT'S normal. We proved it once, gave him some sort of sugar treat and just watched the reaction, it was unbelievable ! Took four hours to come back down !!! Don't worry, he gets lots of treats still But drinks fruit juices instead of squashes etc etc. Just showing that sometimes it takes some effort from the parent to sort things out, but sadly that effort isn't always put in and fashionable ailments such as 'ADHD' are blamed when it is actually the parents not bothering Rant over
robin
Reminds me of another quote. You've got to help us Doc. We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas. Some people are also allergic to E numbers a friend of mine would go completely mental if he had certain E numbers. There was this particular ice cream which would make him crazy. I remember him ending up in hospital because he punched through a window.

carl0s
My site is up now. http://www.disciplinedeficitdisorder.co.uk and .com I wish I was more creative. I've got a couple of domains that I'd love to have flourishing websites on, but I'm just crap at that sort of thing.

carl0s
AD/HD predominantly inattentive type: (AD/HD-I) * Fails to give close attention to details or makes careless mistakes. * Has difficulty sustaining attention. * Does not appear to listen. * Struggles to follow through on instructions. * Has difficulty with organization. * Avoids or dislikes tasks requiring sustained mental effort. * Loses things. * Is easily distracted. * Is forgetful in daily activities. Fookin 'ell. That's Amanda's 10yr old girl to a T. Although she doesn't have problems sustaining attention to the TV. In fact, that's predominantly when she "does not appear to listen". mathew
weird that muffleman as my ex misses' sister had a kid named jake who suffered with ADD. we were baby sitting him one evening and the misses went off to have a shower and he kept asking me for cola. so i gave him some not realising the side effects!!! my god he turned into a hyper little shit. took him out to get food and he was doing handstands on the back seats of the car and bouncing around everywhere when the ex found out i had given him cola she explained it all to me and apparently cola was one of the worse trigger foods for him lol
