Help with parts!!

Hi! I bought a second supra which seems to be turning into a project and the garage have just called with a list of things to be done to pass the MOT!

mk4 import auto n/a

I need the following as a start and wondered if someone could point me in the right direction? Used stuff would keep the price down I guess!

New passenger side headlight as current one has no cut off?! Glass as a preference as the other side is glass.

Rear foglight - presumed this had been done but obviously not changed/ installed

It has breaking problems and may need new callipers etc

Front indicator set

any help would be great

cut one of the reverse lights and use that as your fog light, buy an LED switch, and a red bulb or paint the reverse bulb red.

That is how my car is set up. it means you don't have to have one of those hideous stick on fog lights.

What do you mean that one light has no cut off ?

Be specific with your brake problems, then people can help.

I have a brand new passenger side UK Spec glass headlight here.

What brakes do you have fitted? There are 2 types of Supra brakes, the smaller 2 pot fronts/1 pot rears and the larger 4 pot fronts/2 pot rears.

If you have the smaller spec brakes fitted, then I'd suggest either buying a refurb kit from Toyota and getting them rebuilt of alternatively you could upgrade to the larger spec brakes.

I have the larger spec fronts in stock, details here:

All facelift lights including front indicators in stock, details here:

hi - they just elaborated a little more on the problem with the passenger side headlight....apparently it has "no beam pattern" and cant get access? Any ideas?

Yep..take it somewhere else.

The suggestion about making one of your reverse lights is probably the quickest way to get that sorted and is an easy mod, although do remember you need a "telltale" light inside the car to let you know when the light is on. Also technically it should be wired that the rear fog light comes on only when the cars lights are on, but in reality it is unlikely most MOT inspectors (bless them all:taped:) would even notice that. Is the reflector in the headlight corroded? This can affect the pattern as can condensation on the inside of the lens. Do a search there is loads of stuff on this.

If you were a bit closer I might be able to steer you in the right direction.

When did this motor come into the UK and did you buy it with a valid ticket? M45SEY has a point.

Is what you have listed all it failed on? If so good call, it's not a bad fail, but wonder how it got it's original UK test which it needs for registration.

I also have some good rear pads from a 94 J-spec NA auto if you really get stuck. They are not new by any means but are OK to get you out of trouble and mobile again. Try and find out what's meant to be wrong with your calipers. May just need stripping, cleaning and treated with a bit of copper grease if they are sticking.

Thanks all - im hoping to get a complete list on the failing and a proforma on the work/ parts required! Hopefully some of you guys can help keep the costs down!! Im a little confused when it comes to the headlight as my othr supra has the aweful plastic lights that are coroding and go yellow. The non mot'd supra has lovely glass lights that seem to work fine so was very suprised when they said they would need to be replaced!
