Sheefa
Hi guys, Following on from my MoneyGram post which looks damn complicated, is it really that difficult to arrange for a payment to be made through Western Union too!!! What's all this money agent business in your area that you need? I thought it was just like paypal but not as safe! Help, am I missing something? Thanks, Greg

Sheefa
Hi mate, It is a company I've dealt with before and their service and reputation is excellent. They don't have a credit card payment facility installed until the 9th July, but I need the goods asap! Cheers. Greg
ShamelessTT
Ive used WU before, you have to be extremely careful. The moment you send that money, you have ABSOLUTELY fuck all protection as far as im aware.....for instance if it was for goods and the supplier collects the funds, and sends nothing thats nout to do with WU. The guy i delt with always kept the deal (ebay stuff, bulk buys) and sent the goods so my advice is know who your paying and make sure you trust them, before even thinking about using WU. Thanks, Greg Providing you have a credit card you can make a western union payment via the phone or even online. Simple as pie. Just make sure you have the full details of the person you want to receive the cash. That person will need full ID to collect the cash. http://www.westernunion.co.uk/WUCOMWEB/staticMid.do?method=load&countryCode=GB&languageCode=en&pagename=HomePage
Shane
I have used WU for quite a few years, sent money to romania on loads of occasions and also received it via WU on several other spots around the world. I have never had a problem and the new generation of forms are even simpler now. But as has already been said, be really carefull with info you put on the form, if something doesn't correspond between sender and receiver , i.e the "control code" or I have heard it is a nightmare. I did try the service over the telephone once and gave up as it was so long winded and decided to walk to one of their many agents in Victoria station. Actually I think Mr Imkembe Mputo may have been waiting outside ready to relieve me of my cash! Not the cheapest of services though.
Sheefa
Thanks all. Money sent with a quick online form and a follow up phone call for authorisation. Here's hoping I receive my package otherwise I'll be on another downer for a year!
dangerous brain
I was going to have to use their services a couple of months ago when I cocked up my finances and found out that my UK bank doesn't do IBAN transfers.. When I was told how expensive it was I decided to bust my balls getting the money another way. Its not exactly a reliable or safe way of paying for items from someone you don't know or trust and its not cheap. Lets face it would you put the cash money in a transparent envelope and post it? paul mac
for international money transfer i allways do it through Lloyds you need an IBAN or SWIFT number (SWIFT is easier, less boxs for "Tracey" to fill in), they are allways a bit unwilling at first but once "Tracey" has "called the supervisor" it gets soughted
