lockys96
My brand new Buddyclub exhaust, http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/3104/pict0001nd7.jpg http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/7645/pict0006wf8.jpg http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/8052/pict0007rl7.jpg ive had a second opinion on it, and it appears that they used a mig welder on a tig welded exhaust system. its the only side which is visible on the car, and to be honest, it doesnt look rather good! i need some opinions whether this is acceptable, and what should i do? thanks si

merckx
That's really bad , you don't expect to get corrosion like that where it's in full view. Not much ground clearance either. I would be demanding a refund for that rust .
lockys96
well, whats it going to take to get it all removed from the exhaust and polished up again with better brackets/fixings

Chris Wilson
It looks as if the welds were made using steel filler wire, instead of stainless. Whilst this may still give an acceptably strong weldment it may not be aesthetically very pleasing. I can't believe the makers of the exhaust originally did this, am I to assume someone else has modified it for some reason?
Cable
eeh god no! I take it you couldn't use the standard hanger provided? Just out of curiosity did you have the centre box chopped out and removed like I did?
DJButler
Any welder with the knowledge to turn a welder on knows this is not the way to do the job, i suggest a red hot poker with the cold end shoved up his ar** would be suitable justice, He'd either have to let his eyes water or burn his hands. Sorry mate you were the victim of a cowboy. Dave

PAG
No would not be happy about the state of that mate as said before looks like whoever welded it used the wrong materials.

merckx
On the Nur Spec the hanger is welded further up on top of the box so it's not visible.

Question 2, do you have a receipt for the work (ie it wasn't done for cash off the books) you tell me bud, i only bought a £450 buddy club backbox as i didnt want a backbox not big enough so the supra, as most off shelf were 2.5 inlet, i.e too small. went to get it fitted thinking it would need choping up a bit to fit my car. yes i paid in cash, but have a receipt for work carried out

Ewen
What does the middle hanger actually do ? It looks like its for sideways movement not vertical ? Love your ground clearance Si:)
lockys96
its funny ewen, as the sides dont look low. but you know my huge arches, the superstreets are on no thread all way round. the rear arches have to be cut and rebuilt, and ive removed all front arch liners, need to move the water bottle, 5mm away from my intercooler pipe on full lock, lmao
