Shane
My forced induction conversion will at last hopefully be a big step closer by the end of today. I was looking at buying a apexi neo to look after the fueling, but have also seen: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=008&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=180116497237&rd=1&rd=1 and http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=260116861611&rd=1&rd=1 Would either of these do the job of keeping the fueling somwhere near right in the meantime? Also would either of these, or the neo work of with the stock MAP sensor? Or is it essential that I change it right away? Only planning to run a max boost of 0.4 bar on stock injectors and ECU. 94, J-spec I did read that one guy who has gone NA-T is using the stock NA ecu with no add on AFC, but cant see how that can be if the stock ecu and map sensor doesn't recognise positive manifold pressure. Any assistance gratefully received. Shane
Chris Wilson
But what are you going to do to map the ignition timing to suit a forced induction engine? The Apexi has sod all resolution, you should wait and get at least an AEM ecu.
letmeshowyou
Jen (suki_69) has an S-AFC running her fuelling on her NA/T. Turbofit did the work so might be worth giving them a shout for some advice.

Thanks Chris, from what I have researched so far on this, I was under the impresssion (probably the wrong impression though it seems), that with the low amount of boost planned I could manage the fueling OK with the SAFC and the timing could be left as is? Also I should point out that I am not using a turbo but a eaton SC. Shane

Shane AEM would be overkill at that boost, a decent piggyback would be sufficient, Emanage Blue etc.
Nic
AEM would be overkill at that boost, a decent piggyback would be sufficient, Emanage Blue etc. Overkill? Having a properly set up ECU to manage fueling and timing is essential on any car. I cannot see the point in spending £1000's on a turbo or SC kit, then expecting a cheap electronic fudger to cope with running the thing properly. Shane
Thanks for all your comments guys. Really haven't decided what to do yet, but will keep you informed. The AEM looks great, but it seems lots of people have managed to go NA-T without. I am not saying that is a good thing and that I don't need one, but researching all the options before I take the plunge. What about the stock MAP though, am still concerned about this? The AEM write up for the Supra assumes that it is going onto a TT and says that the stock sensors can be left, clearly on mine that is not going to be the case. And, do the Apexi units also have problems with the stock NA MAP sensor? Sorry if my questions come across as me being dumb, but just need to get it right in my head before I proceed to the next stage. Thanks again.
