Bobbeh
... to the greatest themepark on earth! Back to Cedar Point in Ohio. (http://www.cedarpoint.com). I'll be in the US during the end of May and will be visting family in Michigan after stopping off in NYC for a bit.. so while I was up there I'll just have to drop into the theme park again as its only about 2 1/2 hours drive away. This place has 17 rollercoasters! ... including the Top Thrill Dragster ride, which goes to about 415ft in the air! and a couple of others which are new to me since I last went in 2001. So, you think I can do them all in one day? Bobbeh
Yeah, I went on the Mantis last time, its a yellow and blue stand up ride iirc. Best thing about it is.. each one of those rides pisses over anything they have at Alton Towers, the queues are smaller and there is so much variation. I'm just worried about losing me glasses and or phone this time!

Pete
Wow! I don't have a great deal of faith in anything man made. Those towers just look like matchsticks. The video made me feel better about it though. Have a great time Bob!
Bobbeh
Pete, I know what you mean, the old wooden ones looked a little more convincing (sturdy).. putting my faith in science and German engineering - as many of the rides are Euro designed and built. Pete
It's not the design that worries me, I have a strong faith in science. It's the workmen putting the bolts in and the guy that mundanely checks them week after week I'm not keen on.

juanchan
Jealous doesn't quite come close! Having never been to America I can only go on the rollercoasters we have on our humble shores, but I'd love to hit some the awesome looking theme parks they have over there. Have fun! Oh, and try and film it like that nutter did
Gaz Walker
I will go there at some point. I remember doing the Hulk 'coaster at Universal in Orlando 6 times in 15 minutes - had a really bad head for a while! Good luck mate Gaz.
