no boost after intercooler installation - ok to drive?

i'm pretty sure i've just got a loose pipe somewhere, but if i don't get chance to sort it in the next day or so, am i ok to drive it still?

just finished installing my new front mount - can still hear the spooling of the turbo #1 but it won't get into positive boost

since it's a bumper off job again to check all pipes & connectors, it could be weekend before i get to do it, but still could do with driving it to work & back, which is only a couple of miles away

Don't drive it mate, it will be massively overfueling and will screw up your plugs and O2 sensor (at the very least). Not to mention - if it is a major leak, it'll be sucking in unfiltered air.

It's most likely just a bad connection somewhere, you'll need to go over the IC again and re-check all clamps and connections.

If it's a J-spec it will fuel just fine, but it will indeed be sucking in unfiltered air, possibly from somewhere low down and dirty, so not great. One bit of gravel and bye bye engine/turbos.

all sorted - found one of the pipes completely disconnected (one of the ones that Gaz had connected ;) ). Unfortunately, it was one right at the bottom behind the drip tray so it was a bumper off job again - bit of a ballache but it's done now

just took it out for a blast & it seems to be holding boost fine now

didn't get much opportunity to test it properly to try & appreciate the difference but it definitely feels different - laggy at lower speeds but strong pull at higher throttle? maybe it's just me

i also had to disconnect the battery at one point so the ECU will have reset & i wondered whether that would have changed the drive of the car again whilst it learns my driving again

thanks again to all - especially Gaz who spent a good 12 hours here yesterday helping me do the job which i couldn't have done on my own - what a guy
