Kranz
Better to go lower to prevent oil drain back.
MONKEYmark
the greddy oil relocating kit sits lower than stock filter.it bolts onto where fuel filter bolts to.the pipe i got with mine was way too tight.
JODY T
Ive seen the Oil relocation kit fitted in the space left by the ABS unit... Not my choice of position though...
terribleturner
See i've seen the one Ibrar did which must have meant the hoses had to go high before going low again which i wasn't sure was a good idea. I could put it near the TB close to the fans at the rad, but not sure my sensors will reach that far. The ABS area was actually the reason i was asking tbh. mike_mcevoy
I've fitted mine where the charcoal cannister was and to be honest not has a problem with it. As long as you have a non-return valve to prevent the oil from draining back into the engine there will always be oil going through the system when you first start it up. I'll see if I can dig up a photo of the location Mike
Chris Wilson
mike_mcevoy has it spot on, try and keep it low, but if you use a filter with an anti drain back valve it'll be OK higher than stock. Personally I don't like them, added complexity, weight and potential reliability issues if you don't use very expensive stuff, and just plain unnecessary. terribleturner
The only reason im gonna use it is because of my oil temp and pressure sensors. Is this "anti drain back valve" actually found in the filter itself?? Any recommendadtion on which one?
Chris Wilson
I use a Fram filter, can't remeber the part number, listed as the one for the stock 2JZ-GTE though
