Just thought I'd dig this thread up again.

Here's an Engrish translation of the Border page:

I agree with most of the points made above, including the fact that the space would be better used by an oil cooler. What I don't get however, is why not utilise the offside vent, recently vacated by the SMIC? We all see that sticking an FMIC in front of the radiator reduces its effectiveness, everyone's forgetting that the SMIC vent is now empty...

If I had no choice and had to go FMIC I would keep the passenger vent for oil cooler and the drivers side for cold air feed into the turbo, then change the rad to a ARC or something similar.

What's the point when you could just get a better stock located rad made? i used to sell these, but the cost was prohibitive and i only ever sold two. The stock rad is superb, anything better of the same area will be expensive, you're looking at trick cores.

edit, read the rest of the thread, you'd be better off re designing the front end a bit to accept proper ductiong to the new FMIC and then on into the rad. A deecent FMIC could be half the height of the commercial stuff, too, if decent cores were used.

I can concure that all you need, if you suffer from heating issues because of a FMIC, is an uprated rad.

I suffered exactly that due to my FMIC, so I pulled out the stock rad, dropped a thick PWR in there, job done, no more issues since........certainly no need to run a side rad. Complicated engineering isnt always needed, keep it simple people......;)
