hoff
Another dull one again, sorry. Ive got a little toggle swich below my stereo and I cant figure out what its for! Is it traction control? I havent got an owners manual so I dont even know if there is a light pointing it out. It could be for the aerial, its not the rearfog. That much I do Know. Any ideas anybody, please. Pete
Could be anything. I take it that it's not an OEM switch, but something added? Time to remove the dash.

hoff
Ok that didnt work did it? I,ll have another go in a bit. In the mean time is there a TC light on the dash? I think I need to learn the tech stuff pretty quick instead of thinking "mmm thats nice." LOL.
Bob
A nice grey switch, nicely blended into your grey dash
hoff
yeh that sounds about right.
Bob
TC light should come on in the top right hand side of your main gauges, by the fuel gauge on pre-facelift models, iirc.
tbourner
What do you mean by toggle switch? One of these: http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/photos/rapid/swspst.jpg ie: DIY.

I cant think for the life of me what it does! Like Pete said, maybe time to remove the dash. Dont know if that'll be worth the hassle tho.
tbourner
If you're twin turbo I can only guess it'll be TTC. Have you flicked it and driven the car? Does it do anything?
JustGav
Fog light? Aerial? ETTC? The list is pretty much endless..
colsoop
How many pins does it have on the back of the switch ?
Flip
I'm voting for fog light, though for the MOT this has to have an "on" indicator I believe? Maybe its the self destruct trigger?
SupraStar 3000
is yours a J-spec? If so, could be radio amp on/off or arial up/down. btw: Why hasn't anyone said flux capacitor?
markymark
It could be a change over Horn (switch it a press the horn) I found out mine had this.
hoff
Its definatly not the fog light. It doesnt need a self abstruct switch, this is my first ever rear wheel drive car and had it less than a week. Talk about a baptism of fire in this weather. Flip
Hmmm, maybe its the flux capacitor then? I know what you mean with the baptism of fire - yesterday was good - smell it? I was sitting in it.
hoff
I hope it is a flux capicitor, then I can go forward in time when the snows and ice has cleared up.
hadyn
it does sound like one of those switches installed by someone which switches the turbos from sequential (1st turbo only then both turbos by 4k rpm) to parrallel (both turbos blow all the time throughout revs). Glosphil
Talking of odd switches I've got one under my steering wheel on the panel above my knees. Its a rocker type switched and makes a "beeeep" when switched..... any ideas ? not fog, and doesnt seem to do anything else noticable.
