Standard to Hybrid Turbo rebuild

Gee

Recommended Posts

I've just bought a spare set of standard twin turbos with the plan to get them rebuilt to the biggest power potential Hybrid spec.

Can anyone recommend where to get them sent for this?

Together with the appropriate other mods what sort of power/boost potential could I see from them?

Thanks

Well this is the sort of route that I am going with my supra for now. 26th of Feb it goes for the build and mods.

See my link in signature for more details.

I have order my fuel system. FMIC, ecu (full stand-alone) to come... Exhaust, induction, cams I already have!

Mine are Turbo Technics and I have never had a single problem in 3 years. Exhaust Gas Temperature never goes above 840 degrees even on long uphill, high boost pulls.

I run the car daily on 1.1 - 1.15bar and it is quicker than our vvti BPU 6 speed supras running 1.2 bar.

Also, as a bit of a sidenote, on the dyno we ran up to 1.3bar (to check fuelling was ok in case of an overboost situation) and the torque was still increasing at 1.3bar. Some people have found that running above 1.2bar yields less power and torque (as the turbos aren't operating efficiently at those levels) but my turbos seem efficient enough at 1.3bar.

I'll try to find some info on the turbos for you...

Fuelling wise the only things I have different are the Mines ecu and a Walbro. Fuelling was still something like 11.5:1 at 1.3bar full load so the Mines ecu is really doing the trick although I don't doubt the injectors are close to being maxed out at those levels.
