hadyn
Just found oil around the area where I believe the autobox joins to the engine when I did an autobox fluid change. Any idea whats leaking here? It appears to be engine oil (ie black dark sludge, rather than reddy autobox fluid...)
Jake
Rear main crank seal?
hadyn
Engine oil levels seem fine. Has this been going of for years then? Is it not an autobox leak?

Scooter
I'd not worry about it just yet, it doesn't look like there is alot of oil there. Maybe clean it up with a rag and then monitor oils levels more often than normal and when you do another oil change or autobox fluid change check the same area for new oil/fluid/grime........ Is there any oil on the undertray wadding?
hadyn
I think I might have a cam cover gasket leak - could this be a steady flow of oil ending up here too?

uk-rich
i would clean the whole area and then you will be able to see where its coming from
Homer
Could be rear crank seal, but it the oils above the box area then its almost certainly cam covers. Changing those is fairly easy so try that and see if it stops.
hadyn
couldnt be autobox fluid could it around that bellhousing area?
Chris Wilson
Cam cover seals if it's above the engine centreline, main (or main and AND cam cover seals) if it's below the centreline. Steam it all off and see where it's coming from.
