Another na-t question

Ian, I havent tried it yet but doesnt the NA's MAP sensor use vaccum to determine fuel? more vaccum = more fuel? so if someone were to go the NA-T route, am i right in thinking that the stock MAP sensor couldnt read positive boost and neither would the stock ECU. SO if this is the case then what should be done, can the stock MAP sensor signal be clamped and instead use the greddy pressure sensor to map fuel?

I m going to give it a shot on my spare 2JZGE engine in a couple of months, using an EMU.

Well, I doubt the NA MAP sensor is going to be able to read much positive boost but you never know. I don't even know why it's got one, seeing as it has a MAF sensor for air metering

The sensor will just clip at it's maximum, much like the stock one at 1.25bar on the TT. I haven't heard of a fault code being logged on positive boost on an NA before...

IanC did the map on mine and there has never been any issues with it are you using the optional 3bar map sensor, even before when I was using a safc2 no problems with it reading +ive pressure.... dont know if it makes any difference but I am pretty sure my ecu is obd2 96>

Ian I m pretty sure that the Jspec NA's have only a MAP sensor. It was the US spec ones that had MAF sensor. I remember posting a picture of my engine on here a long time ago when someone insisted that all NA's were MAF.

Mate, by '3 bar map sensor' are you reffering to the Greddy emanage pressure sensor???

I have been looking at this too recentley and this is what they say on another forum "The ECU will also need to be fooled into thinking there is no boost as it will not work if it sees boost pressure through the MAP sensor". Sadly it does not tell you how to do this though!

This was in the tech part of mkiv.supras.org.nz

this is another thing that been bothering me. as i said before when i first had the conversion done my car was showing the engine check light when under positive boost.

When i get round to fitting the greddy 3 bar sensor do i need to leave my missing link inline with the original map so it continues to not see positive boost???

Bromy, would you mind to post your whole NA-t setup please? like SAFC2 aeromotive fuel pressure regulater etc

bromy what kind of hp are you running with yoursetup???

Tried the car again today with the missing link removed, didnt run overly well due to just throwing some rough figures in that area of the map to make it safer but didnt throw up the engine check light as it used to so i think were onto a winner now

It made 283 at the wheels at just 0.35baand it is now at 0.8bar so it must be around 400 somewhere at the fly now, will be hoping to get to 1.4bar next year then will call it a day, but the good thing is it has never missed a beat
