Best multifunctional monitoring device for Supra/OBDII ?

I was thinking of buying some more gauges for EGT, oil temp/pressure etc but thought for the cost of decent electronic gauges with warnings I could get one of these all in one devices with the funky screens.

My car is only BPU, but I'd like to have the reassurance that if something was amiss, I'd know straight away. Most important thing for me is that I can set warning points and the thing will alert me by beeping, flashing, hitting me over the head with a mallet.

I'm assuming the warnings sit in the background and activate regardless of what screen you've set to view? Do they jump to view when the warning is activated?

Stuff like 1/4 mile times, 0-60 etc isn't important but fancy I suppose.

Has anyone used such a device or what do people recommend for a VVTi Supra?

The Greddy Intelligent Informer - OBDI only?

Blitz SBC iColour - Does it have warnings? I don't think it does EGT? It's a boost controller as well which might be handy - any good as a boost controller?

Are there any others to consider?

By the time I've bought sensors and fittings would there be a cost saving against gauges anyway?

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

That Greddy informer device says it is for ISO 14320.

I thought that was OBD2 (not OBD1)

OBD1 is fairly limited. It has a slow refresh rate and only monitors a few things, mostly to do with the fuelling/ign to allow faultfinding to correct emissions problems.

No way will OBD1 look at things like oil pressure etc. It will also monitor coolant temp but not much else in terms of 'engine safety'

Besides, you are driving a Toyota. As long as you service it regularly then why worry about oil pressure problems?

The Blitz i-color is the best boost controller I have used, defintely recommended. You can set multiple boost settings against speed signal, so you get max boost through all gears. It cannot do EGT readings.

With the addition of extra sensors it can also read AFR, water/oil temp and oil/fuel pressure.
