I'll try and be there, probably for the Saturday, alhtough its my wife's birthday so i'll have to do some really good talking.

Thinking about it, all that is going to happen is Justin whipping my arse again down the strip;)

Hope to see you there.

Regards

Stephen V

Pay on the day, but get there early as the queue is normally massive.

Track Action (Run What Ya Brung)

If you want to get your car out on the dragstrip and enter the Run What Ya Brung competition, remember to bring your driving license and £12 for your three runs on the strip.

We recommend you get there early to sign on for full use of the track, as this is likely to be a very popular competition. For full information regarding Run What Ya Brung visit http://www.rwyb.com

New classes and Run What Ya Brung rules for Santa Pod Raceway's Japanese Car shows:

After the success of the Japanese Performance Show at Santa Pod back in October 2003, it was decided that there was more than enough competitors to justify splitting the competition into separate categories that would identify the fastest cars in a number of manufacturer-based classes for future Japanese car events, including the Japshow in June and The Japanese Performance Show in October. This was as a direct result of requests from the public and press for more info on the times run by a variety of popular models, and should separate most models from the ever-dominant Skylines!

The new classes are as follows:

A Nissan/Datsun

B Toyota/Lexus

C Honda/Acura

D Mitsubishi/Proton

E Subaru

F Mazda

G Suzuki/Daihatsu/Isuzu

X All other vehicles and non-road legal

No prizes will be made available for category X, and please note that no track time will be made available for motorcycles.

Due to the ever-increasing levels of competitiveness in Run What Ya Brung competitions at Santa Pod, new guidelines have been introduced that show acceptable modifications. All Run What Ya Brung competitions are designed to cater mainly for road-legal cars. However, allowances have been made for some popular modifications that would not normally be deemed road-legal. Although some people say nitrous oxide is cheating in a road car, we say it's fun, so if you've got it, flaunt it!

Modifications from “road-legal” that are acceptable:

Removal of headlight to improve air induction

Nitrous oxide injection is permitted

Removal of wing mirrors, number plates and windscreen wipers is also acceptable

Important:

Your car must have DOT approved tyres with acceptable levels of tread!

Apart from the above modifications, your car must be MOT-worthy.

All drivers must produce a valid driving licence to sign-on.

Erm its more expensive to buy a weekend ticket than buying days seperately??? Camping can be the only reason for this I am guessing.

Yep, the weekend ticket allows you to camp both Friday and Saturday nights.

Im off to Santa Pod on the 19th June for the Jap Show.

Its only £12 for 3 runs and any one is welcome.

Any of you East Angians interested in joining me.

I will probably be takinge my NA for the runs, just have to learn how to pull off quick in a manual without burning the clutch. Hopefully, maybe I wont make a fool of myself :D
