Havent looked into getting Ti tube, something I ought to do though.

 

The recovery lorries on the firm I used to work for used V-bands, being DAF's I cant see them being expensive, I've meant to ring up DAF and find out.

 

What fuel/engine management are you using out of interest mate??

you will have to go some to beat max power lads, some of them have twin 7" pipes or loads of motorbike cans. why dont you just run it with downpipe and midpipe and leave the exhaust out and save some money.

some of the american cars at dragstrip dont have exhaust it is just manifold and thats it.

how long will it take to map it up and get ready for that drag day you off to?

Dude took me out for a spin in his car this afternoon on it's shake down run.

 

Bloody hell , that is one MONSTER of a car !!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

The noise of that exhaust off boost is fantastic but when the turbo spools up it sounds like WW3 has started , external waste-gates have to be heard to be believed.

Even though Dude said he was going to take it easy , as it needs to be mapped ect , that has to be the fastest car i have ever been in , road or strip !

Cheers Dude , i can't wait to see what it can do when it's fully sorted.

Too fast for him , its back in the workshop tommorrow until i get time to sort the fueling , which wont be till CJ's is finished unless i can bribe big tel to come pay a visit !!!!

Had the pleasure of a short test flight in this beast today. To summarise its ridiculously quick! To start with I thought ok this is nice, the roof was off, nice music etc. We get onto the first bit of straight road and all of sudden the turbo spools up and bang the power just hits you like you wouldn't believe!

 

Dude tells me its not running 100% at the moment but its without a doubt the faster car I've ever been in and I cant imagine that changing any time soon.

 

I followed in mine for a bit afterwards and the sound which I believe is the external waste gate, sounds suburb it certainly got a few looks:D

 

All in all very impressed so thanks Dude.

Car is now set up to run safely rich until Big Tel , Miglet and Blind Pew have time to sort out the fueling !!!!!

It IS ridiculously fast and now running the original Turbo after an experiment with a larger one , tuesday is the day for the fueling mods and hopefully it will be at the Jap Streetracer meet at Avon Park on the 31st allthough i dont htink i will be running at full boost (2bar) , ive had my own 3" turbo > IC pipe made and short of relocating the filter under the headlight its pretty much there , there will be a thread in the vortex section pretty soon re the build up etc , heres a pic of the new pipe :thumbs:

john you saying the 71 is too laggy?

paul was saying something about you put old turbo back on. i was more than happy with stockers in TTC mode but never got to try with torque convertor so would be nice to see how a 4k stall is with them. it would only be a matter of time before tha jap ones blow.

 

will look forward to seeing yours running

 

supposed to be a few big power supras going :)

Mark, dude didn't like the down time because he has a 3.8k stall. I don't know how you managed to get a 4k PI converter, but if it is actually a 4.4k then you will be on the money. If not they normally do a free first stall change depending where you sourced it. If not flog it and I'll get you one within 2 weeks.

what you mean terry? i got my second tc from powerhouse racing and asked for a 4k stall. the other in car is a 3600 stall but it went funny so bought the 4k one so its not messing about taking it out sending back and waiting for it to get fixed and come back. i was going to get the broken 3600 tc upgraded to a 4k stall and keep as a spare. are you saying i would need to get it upgraded to a 4400 stall to get the best out of the T71 GTQ turbo. thought 4000 would be plenty, not heard of anyone going higher than a 4000 on supra. and was worried it would drive like crap with too high stall.

 

so is dude been a wus and going for the girls turbo :innocent:

i have wrote to jarret asking about the TC he said if i send him the serial he can check what stall it is. also asked about upgrading the faulty tc to a 4400 if they can do it.

can you check and send me the serial on back of TC if you get a chance and i can email him back.

 

so what you doing with your kit now? have you got 2 turbos now.

Not having 2 turbos Mark , got some other toys coming now instead ;)

PI converters only come in 3 stalls and 4K aint one of em !!!:eek:
