whats wrong with trying to help other people out especially club members?

maybe because club members have tried to screw club members:)

Nothing which is why so far.. I've traded a strut bar for a bar of chocolate, fitted some gauges for chocolate and recently a radio cage for a fiver donation to an animal charity :)

Don't bother me either. I use offers through pm because most the stuff i was selling did not know what it was worth.

Also if someone offers u something silly then it is dealt with through pm's and not for everyone to view.

I would also like to add that when people make offers on the thread itself they can take the pi$$, like £1 and simply would not bother by pm.

At the end of the day it is the seller's right and if u don't like it then don't offer, but in most cases people will still offer if genuinely interested.

And it is not always about making money as some of the stuff i have sold have virtually given away to first offer i.e if an item is worth £80 and someone offered £50.

Most stuff has been sold before on here, some special stuff then maybe offers is the best route. It is just lazyness to do some research imho.

If you knew that this item was worth £80 why did you put offers? Was it purely to see if you could make more money?

ok my gearbox, not working no 4th gear, i thought ok a second hand one in good nick would be about 1k, i could not find one less than 1500, to recondition mine i was qouted between 250 + parts to 1850 + parts, so i bought a new one, i thought its got to be worth a couple of hundred at least, then i got a few pms asking if they could have the old box for various purposes, so i decided on offers and got what i thought was a good price:search: i would never try to rip anyone off

So why should the seller have to do the hard work?

If i have 30 items for sale then i don't have the time to check all prices i.e like when i stripped my car.

It is not rocket science mate, if it is worth £80 and sold for £50 what part of that was to make more money.

Like i said before if someone don't like the way a seller is selling then simply don't buy from them.

This is what I meant about speciality items, I mean how many times has a broken 6sp gearbox came up for sale?

Exactly my point, could not agree more.

It has nothing to do with making more money but more as to what u consider reasonable or for a quick sale.

Re read my post then re read what you have written.

I said if you knew it was worth £80 to begin with, why (

Because as i mentioned earlier that if you were after a quick sale then knowing if the item is worth £80 you would let it go to first reasonable offer i.e £50.

This thread is becoming pointless know. And TBH no one needs to explian why and how they have put something up for sale.

Everyone will disagree with some things in life and obviously this bothers u which is your opinion which you are entitled to, just as the seller is entitled to advertise how they please.

You know they sell chocolate in shops quite cheaply? You don't have to give stuff away and pimp your time for it.
