You should be able to limp the machine back down - as long as no oil - but check with hairy one if you can turn turbos off

Now spoken to Dude - you should be OK with 440's with your set up if you DONT CANE IT! 1.1/1.2 bar max OK?

However

Emin has agreed to to make you up a resistor pack for next to nowt - ready next week and call CJ asap re the 550's - also waiting for your call!

Get hold of Dude asap

But use the house phone - oh yeah I forgot! LOL!)

He's the master of swapping turbos, it only takes him 5 minutes :)

I'll take him on in an injector swap race though :D

Anyway, I imagine there will be a very careful and protracted shakedown done this time around, with balance checks, leaks, oil pressure etc. Can't believe it's happened again :(

Anyway - qualifications don't mean jack to me compared to experience and reputation. Dude seems to have both.

Didn't know you were a qualified Mechanic aswell, nice one :)

Paul , quite a reasonable question to ask , i started out in the trade as a mechanic , at various garages including a BMW specialist , when i started working for myself it was with a guy who was a panel beater specialising in write offs , this worked quite well as i stripped the damaged bits / pulled engines boxes etc and he did the bodywork , it was only natural that i picked up the bodywork side of things , when we lost our workshop i became an MOT tester , a small workshop attached to the test station came up for rent and i started to do a lot of trade bodywork , so much so i had to give up the MOT's and do it full time , then i bought a Supra and the rest is history , i allmost became exclusively a m.cycle painter at one time because i was heavilly into bikes , i actually much prefer tuning work to bodywork but its nice to be able to do both !!!!;)

Guys, you caused a big lump in my throat, but seriously all the help that eveyone has given me over the last few months, and for any help in the future is appreciated beyond words.

Im sure once the car is down with John he will double check that everything is ok with the car.

But once again a big thanks to Paul E + Dude (Miami-Rice), Jason (supraguy), Emin, and CJ. This wouldnt have been posible without you guys. ( I seem to be dishing alot of these out lately...... :innocent: )

For all others who posted thanks for the kind words, I'll keep everyone posted on how things progress.

Perhaps wear wasn't the cause - if your injector(s) are fouled up and not delivering enough fuel, you'll run lean, your EGT's will rocket and your turbo will go pop.

Got an EGT gauge or a AFR gauge?

EGT's were sat around a steady 600 on the motorway, but remember that is from the down pipe, although I did notice they crept up by about 100 for the last 30mins of the journey.

How about the oil feed to the turbos? They lasted a while, maybe because of the preprimed oil sat in them, and then a death whine because the oil ran dry/burnt up, and that's that?

Wouldnt the first lot have died in the same way, they went bang, although as Paul said oil seems to be moving ok, due to dumping nearly all its oil in under 20miles.
