Ok, so I've been reeeeallllly lucky so far. Traders policy since I passed my test as co-own a garage with my Dad. My part is in name only, Idon't actually do anything except get free insurance.

This was obviously a part of my Supra buying decision. (3 accidents all my fault! )

So I go for dinner with Dad on Wednesday and he tells me he's packing it in and I have until October 10th to get my own!

Help! Any great cheap insurance co's around? Best so far is about £750...:( :search:

to be honest I had a little deal with mine too, they gave me 5 year NCB for free with that cover, but as I said cost me £1600 on my TT manual 94 RZ with value of £12K, hoping to get something better with my NBC next year though

and all that was me saying I have a double garage and CAT1 alarm etc and limited to 3000 miles ayear

you lucky things , I better just hope next year be my cheap year then as I have paid the £1600 already and no way to get that back, but at the time they were the nly one to insure me as I needed to insured the car on Chassis number as it was still in the ship coming from Japan and no number plate etc..

well just some excuses really to say Ive done the right thing ;) :(

There is a good way around the chassis number thing. If you buy a car on ebay you get free 7 days insurance cover. I just phoned them up and told them i bought the car from ebay(although i didn't), gave them the chassis number and they sent me my cover note. That was a few weeks back on my mrs' FTO:d

bloody hell didnt think about that one , but if you buy a car its most likely to be from UK and that comes with a number plate anyway, are they thick or something or just wanna be nice to ebayers?

if that works then I should remember that for when Im importing my next car ? not anytime soon though while I got the supy:D

That's a pretty stupid thing to say in a public forum!

Someone who works for that insurance company might be reading this......

I have the feeling that if I was in your situation I'd be paying a damn site more than £750 (being male). My current policy was £900 with sky on a BPU Supra, 25 with 2 years NCB and 2 claims (one break-in and one partial fault accident). £750 sounds good considering you have 3 claims to your name.
