Pabs
As per title really... which is the best magazine to read to learn about the Supra, and read articles on modified examples and how-to's etc for them? As a supra is going to be a car for me, i like to read up on them. I have seen threads that say J-tuner is O.K but a bit "max-power", and others say Japanese Performance is worth going for. I think I want to subscribe to one, unless people think its best just to buy each month, depending on articles etc? Cheers
Sharpie
I'd say check them out each month.
JamieP
This is the best place to learn;) Magazines are a waste of money imo..
CJ
This is the best place to learn;) Magazines are a waste of money imo.. I agree. most of the magazine articles I have read dont really know what they are talking about when it comes to the Supra.

rik
I useually end up getting all the jap mags. My lad subs to Jap Performance, i'm subed to J-tuner and usually end up getting Banzai too. All good in their own way, depending on what cars they're featuring and what the tech articles are about. Been loads of really nice supras featured between them. Pabs
thanks guys. I might just subscribe to J tuner anyway - its cheaper across the year. Agreed about the forums though - I learn a LOT on here, but its not always as clear and concise - threads tend to discuss things rather than start and finish with 1 correct answer. (a bit like this one really lol) Is there anywhere with something like a common modifications list, along with guides on why its done and how to do it? And a common problem database, listing problems with fixes? its something I've strived to complete for the Leon i currently drive - my entire website is full of how-to modification guides, and USED to have common problems and resolutions. Dragonball
Try USA magazine 'Modified' best by a long way IMHO...
Sharpie
Try USA magazine 'Modified' best by a long way IMHO... Not bad, IMO and is one of the better ones, I subscribed to Turbo & High Performance for 1yr which, is on par.....£30 shipped to my door from US. https://store.primediamags.com/subscribe/turbomagazine/9062/I4BCSN/INTL You get to see more Soop's in the US mag's too and scooby's tend to be a rare sighting in the mag's. Well, up until a few months back, which I liked the lack of them. I have enjoyed some the tech articles in Jap Performance over the years, just general stuff like going into one specific area of a car (i.e. suspension) over two months and get's down into the details. Ian W
just out of curiosity mate, did you ever have a problem or heard of a problem with a Leon leaking serious amounts of water into the drivers footwell? thanks guys. Kittyclaws
I read Japanese Performance. Like the way it tells you what mods the car has in a non chav way. Latest issue has a couple of pics of this club at JAE
Pabs
just out of curiosity mate, did you ever have a problem or heard of a problem with a Leon leaking serious amounts of water into the drivers footwell? yes mate - very common problem, depends on the year of the car mainly though. Its the rubber seal(s) around the doors.
m6 beg
just out of curiosity mate, did you ever have a problem or heard of a problem with a Leon leaking serious amounts of water into the drivers footwell? Yep Via the heater Matrix. When it is gone. Mick
Pabs
the leak usually appears down the door on the leon, and sits between the sill and the door. If you look under the door you will see a bit of rubber that is supposed to seat itself into the sill at a right angle - but this can get damaged and then divert the water in towards the footwell rather than out of the door. Older leons (pre 52 plate) suffered worse - after this bigger seals were used.
Guest dee_rz
j tuner is far from max power infact it's one of the better ones, banzai is a bit more chav in my opinion, j tuner and jap performance seem the best and are more tech rather than banzai aka pimp my scooby. Chris Wilson
The only half decent mags with Supra tuning info are in Japanese, the English ones are a joke and an insult to anyones intelligence. An engine's an engine, buy Racecar Engineering and apply the info generally.
