Polemarch
Go iPod. If nothing else do it to keep Apple afloat and try and halt Microsofts world domination. Also, they are really great devices. Easy to use and cool to boot.
Kittyclaws
Go iPod. If nothing else do it to keep Apple afloat and try and halt Microsofts world domination. Also, they are really great devices. Easy to use and cool to boot. I've seen a fair few reviews that state the playback is not all that good, plus you can only use presets on the equalizer. Then there is the issue of battery life etc. I have been reading the reviews on Amazon. also which concerns me a bit is the number of Ipods that break down shortly after their warranty runs out. Has anyone one else had any problems with theirs???????????
Mike
I've got a 60Gb one and have 9Gb of free space left on it... I use it every day in the car, if I travel etc. never had any problems.... works every time.. If movies if what you want I'd get a PSP.. much better screen.. Kittyclaws
Not fussed with films etc, just want a decent player with good sound. Ipod seem to have more add on's for it, plus there are kits to mount it in your car. if sony came out with a car kit, then i would def go for the Sony

MONKEYmark
i have a gen 4 60gig it was only 60 quid second hand.mine keeps freezing up and as it has no power on/off switch i had to wait till battery ran flat, then i could charge it up and get control of it again. i got sick of doing that so decided to open case and pull power lead off inside and reconect causing it to reboot.have wiped it clean and re installed software but still does same. nothing too them when you open up.bought some small switch i was going to wire into ipod. play lists are ok.pain in ass searching for songs or albums when you have 7000+ songs. i made a home made i pod holder for mine lol. most of time its fine battery lasts a 12 hour shift so its ok for me

I found that if you held the play/pause button and the menu button down at the same time for about 10/15 seconds it would unfreeze. Not sure on the battery life but I used my everyday and have had it for the past 2 years and it's still going strong.
