Matt 6
Looking to up the power on a TT Supra. Where should I start and what sort of results can I expect from these mods? Just after some simple/cheap and effective mods for now, somewhere upto around £1000.

Nic
If yours is a J-spec TT Matt then the following would see a good increase in performance and response ie. around 375-400hp. I would recommend getting your car checked over on a dyno after doing the following to ensure all is running sweetly. 1. Check the condition of you intercooler, if it's in poor condition it should really be replaced before continuing. 2. Fit free flowing aftermarket exhaust. 3. Remove either just the front or ideally both cats, replace with de-cat pipe and restrictor ring (available from Chris Wilson) 4. Adjust restrictor ring to limit boost to 1.1 - 1.2bar. 5. Fit set of cooler grade spark plugs. 6. Fit boost gauge to monitor boost levels, manual boost gauges are the cheapest, electronic ones will give you functions such as peak hold and peak warning. 7. Fit FCD (Fuel Cut Defender). To ensure adequate fueling and smooth running, I would also recommend the following. 1. If fuel pump is original J-spec one, replace with either a new OEM UK Spec or Walbro pump. 2. Fit new fuel filter. 3. Fit new O2 sensor if not been replaced for a while. If I can help with the supply of any parts please let me know.
Sheefa
Maybe consider getting an AFR gauge too to keep an eye on things and help prevent detonation. The performance is blinding from these simple and relatively inexpensive upgrades mate. Enjoy
