Replacing Jspec brakes

i can hear you think "AARRGHGHGGH again a brake topic!" :p

This time its a little bit different.

 

My brakediscs, brakepads and brakebooster needs to be replaced. The TT brakes are great but they wont fit with my 16" wheels.

I found out that i should get the Cris Wilson brakepads (or not?), the brakebooster is not available in different flavors, so i will stick with the oem :D - how much will a complete brakebooster cost?

Stainless steel brake lines will be bought as well.

 

3G brakediscs seems to be very good - according to the search. mvpmotorsports and probarly more shops are selling other brands as well. What disc brakes would be the best for me?

the advice i've heard says you should spend your money on Pads and high spec Brake fluid and just stick to stock toyota disks......

 

Stick to J-Spec disks ? :blink:

 

I thought general opinion was that there poo ?

 

(even tho I have them and find suffient enough for daily driving)

Scooter's right the stock discs are fine, you'll see negligible improvement with slotted or drilled discs. The only aftermarket discs worth fitting are the 2 piece discs, mainly for their weight saving, but they are very expensive.

 

A good set of pads (CW, TRD, Endless, etc.) and decnt fluid (Motul, TRD, etc.) will make a noticeable difference to brake 'bite' and pedal feel.

 

Also worth considering would be a brace for the brake master cylinder, the Cusco brace or the Carbing tower bar with built in brace will help firm up the pedal and subsequently increase stopping power. I supply both of these, so give me a shout if you would like more details.

So if your j-spec disks packed in and you didnt want to spend a fortune would you go for, stock replacements or a set of 3G ??

 

(and taking new pads with either)

aer there any differences between those pads? for example the CW are more for street use and the endless more for circuit?
