Jezz
Somebody obviously purposely threw a spanner in the works to create a 'business oportunity' out of doing someone a favour. So who do i charge my lost days work to for just having my already planned saturday cancelled?
Miguel
Im sorry but i honestly believe this a purely business related thinking. Shitex power (did i just say that ) dont wana lose any money and sending all your customers to someone else aint a good way to keep business (but then going behind a well respected members back isnt the best way either) Hopefully you will have some balls and admit it You are welcome to your opinions Shitex power or other and if that is what you trully believe is the case ..Furry muff ..What a small narrow minded man you are! MARTIN R
Whatever the situation here, I reckon CJ and other members have been treated really poorly. As I know from experience CJ would have acted in the best interests of all parties

BURT
well personally, i did think that some of the parts from dudes car were being sold a little on the cheap side.. imo. pherhaps waiting a little longer for the right prices would ultimatley help dudes family in the long run. And I would have waited longer and got better money had I been told we had more time. I was told that we had to get money in very quickly and that is what I did. If others can get more money then that is great but civility and good manners cost nothing. A phone call explaining what was going on (and not a muffled message from dude) would not have been too much to ask.

Got to agree with you there mate. I was ready to pay considerably more for a couple of those bits, but never got the opportunity. Seems a huge shame to waste all of CJ's (and others) hard work though
Guest Terry S
CJ, you keep banging on about maturity. Maybe a PM would have been more appropriate to explain this, but maybe an attempted public hanging appeals more. About 7pm Dude called me because he was concerned with the prices parts of his car were being sold for. I have not spoken to Dude for ages, so he didnt get them info from me?. I explained that it was due to the urgency of the matter in hand. He asked me for a favour, which was to loan him the money he needs and, on his behalf, arrange with the help of others to break the car, but at a slower pace, and for hopefully more realistic prices. This is purely to maximise the money he/his will family receive. I explained to Dude that being a friend I would gladly do so, but that he should call you and discuss as you were well on with the selling of parts. Whilst I understand this is disappointing, I am sure you will all understand and respect John's reasons/wishes for wanting to see as much return from his car as possible. Now CJ, if you would be kind enough to send me a list of parts, prices, and contact details ( this is not for me, but for Dude), we can take it from there. I am hoping to speak with Dude again in the Morning and will pass on any comments you guys wish to make. Thanks guys

I am unsure as to what list you want as only a couple of people had already paid. I have already refunded JamieP for the seats as he requested. I must admit I thought that after reading CJs first post but I spose he was just pissed off after trying to help out. Be better for Dude to get more realistic prices considering his situation. Clarkey
I fully apprieciate Dude wanting to get the best deal. Seeing as he's not around to provide for his family ... if the roles were reversed and I was in his situation .. I'd be wanting the best deals. He's got kids hasn't he ? And kids aren't cheap to run. I have already said that I was trying to get the best deals in the time given. Matt Harwood and myself had been told by dude that he was in the shit and needed at least 2k by the 20th. If people were that concerned with the prices why didnt they speak up about lending him the money sooner? Why did it take until the 11th hour before all this came out? I am more than happy for dude to get the best deals and anything over £8000 (which is what I was pledged) will be a great bonus. All I asked for was the courtesy of a phone call. stupra
I might of missed somthing here (so dont jump on me ), but why is the car being broken, why not just sell it whole ?. Are the bits worth more than the car itself ?.
Clarkey
That's not what I meant Colin. I just meant - I can understand him doing what he's doing from a financial point of view. I wasn't commenting on the the who/what and the why.
michael
I suspect the car would be sold whole if someone came along with the right price right now, however for a quick(er) way of raising money you can't beat selling bits to us hungry wolves. Pete
Just bloody ebay the sodding bits and let the money talk. It's a great shame that many people are going to understandably feel bitter about this for some time I expect. CJ and Matt for doing what they thought best, Martin and everyone else for offering their time and services, and people that thought they'd secured a purchase. I'm sure in the long run it'll all work out best for the Dudes family. Money - the root of all evil.
