Conrad
I've bought both Cat C and Cat D cars in the past and never had any problems. I've also bought salvage and done them up myself. The reason I've bought them in the past is because at the time it was the only way I could affortd that particular car. The way I see it, buying a registered car is no different from buying a car with say, high mileage. The car is cheap to start with so the re-sale value will be cheap too. People may be put off by the history of the car but somebody will buy it if the price is right.
Jezz
It is illegal for a trader not to state accident damage. Private sellers dont have to say anything. So if a private seller is asked if its been accident damaged.....................
