Ian C
There was I changing the brake discs and pads up front, and I was debating whether to keep the front tyres on for now as they have a reasonable amount of tread left when I found this... see attached... You can see where the water channel suddenly becomes one with the rest of the tyre in one small patch, that's a serious amount of tread missing How come it's just that bit as well? I did do a track day with no ABS due to a problem with my Racelogic unit, perhaps I locked up and flatspotted it while cornering or something...? Needless to say with that level of visible deformation the front tyres are junk and new ones will go on. -Ian
Homer
Flatspotting to that degree should need more than a couple lockups in the same area. Perhaps a warped disk causing a small lockup in one specific area?
Ian C
The discs weren't warped until Bruntingthorpe last weekend (and even then only one of them and not by a lot but still enough to swap out the discs), by which point all my RLTC and ABS problems had been fixed (by Matt Harwood, the star). Odd. Slightly annoying as there is about 40% of the tyre's life left otherwise. Maybe I should sell them on eBay -Ian
