I had an argument with a fellow at work about speed, his hangup was that you shouldn't break the speed limit at any time. I said what about doing 90mph on a dry clear day on the motorway, with high visibility and when you were well rested (as opposssed to 90mph on a wet fog filled motorway, zero visibility which I agree is silly) and he nearly bit my head off.

Apparently his brother was killed by a speeding car, BUT he saw no wrong in using a mobile phone while driving, I tried to point out that speed doesnt kill, it is normally bad driving or under the effects of something. He said speeding was breaking the law and when I pointed out so was using a mobile phone while driving he stormed off.

Well if speed is so damned terrible how comes autobhans don't have daily horrendous pile ups?? Some of the speed limits in this country seem a bit bizarre to me. I've been through areas and thought that the speed limit needed to be a lot lower, and other areas where i've wondered what planet they were on when they decided the limit.
