Mike
Just an observation... and I've been posting here for about a year and to be honest hadn't really noticed it, but I'm finding lots of my posts and 'threads that I post in' are being deleted recently...? and not ones that I swear in or attack anyone in.... those ones seem to be fine!?! The Flat4 thread the other night did admittedly get out of hand, but the butchering that took!? we lost about 4 or 5 pages in no time at all...?? I think we need to take a look when individuals are being abused or legal stuff could be a factor, but butchering for the sake of it...? I'm starting to feel a big brother effect in here that I've never felt before... I think we all want freedom of speech and democracy... perhaps we should have a few guidelines for mods and members as to what is acceptable and what is not? Please don't get me wrong I'm not trying to stir anything weird up... just thought it worth a discussion..?
Thorin
It used to be rare that posts got deleted or locked, we didn't have to pay back then either.
tbourner
I've always been a believer in the mod rule. You can claim it's the members that make the site, without us it wouldn't be here, we should decide etc etc. but the admin are in charge and keep order, they decide what goes and what doesn't. We are Britons but the police keep order and we have to do as they (and the law) says or we get put away (banned from using the country). I think the admin have been fair, they've given in to requests for account sheets etc. They usually keep a thread open until someone actually complains or there's real abuse going on. But at the end of the day that doesn't matter anyway; they could shut the place down and never tell us if they wanted. They make the rules: We stick to them or piss off. Mike
Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not asking to discuss 'the importantance of moderators'.... hey, someone has to run the club and I think they do a cracking job of it... I just find it a bit odd when stuff I said on here is removed for no apparent reason...? and I haven't swore or attacked anyone...? not that it's an epidemic or anything... just happened to me a few times this week and had not happened before... The 'why do we pay £10' thing is a total sham... half the time I think it should go towards some kind of wage for the mods for putting up with us lot... especially Ed! how_supra
I don't agree with the idea of guidelines on whats acceptable and whats not. Most of us are level headed individuals. Although it has improved significantly, but the F T O forum seemed to be over run with power hungry mods. Newbies get attacked, threads get deleted without notification, mods close threads but still post in them so others can't reply. The mods on this site are fair and reasonable people. Mike
I don't agree with the idea of guidelines on whats acceptable and whats not. Most of us are level headed individuals. Yes, but a few recent members aren't quite so level headed so mods need to step in... What I'm saying is stuff I've said that isn't offensive / attacking is being deleted, and I'm just wondering why that might be? The mods on this site are fair and reasonable people. absolutely, you'll get no argument from me there...

AlanM
The moderators do a good job on here. They should have more input. One instance I can think of immediately is the "Title" under a members name. I took this at face value when I joined, if someone claimed to be "Experienced" or "Expert" I stupidly thought they were. There are people on here claiming to be these who in fact are less knowledgable than myself. Thank goodness I have sussed out who the knowledgable ones are
