Nic
Simon I'll get you a price for a smaller Toyota one IYW, I have one on my car which is small enough to fit to the right of the battery, behind the headlight.
Dash Rendar
I've got this problem too. Just had a new FMIC fitted and now I have no expansion tank and no reservoir! How safe is it to drive without? Could you also send me details of this small expansion tank? Much appreciated!
uk-rich
if you take out the drivers head light, you will see there is loads of room down there, it would be quite easy to make yourself a bracket. have a look, easy peesy !

Dash Rendar
mine goes to the right of the battery and cost a £1 from my local car breaker What car did it come from? Presumably the stock Supra one is too big to fit in there?
Dragonball
Look for one from a Toyota Starlet... Or I do a chromed one that will fit next to the battery

Dash Rendar
The blingy one was a little too pricey for me! Anyway, I've made a makeshift expansion tank out of a gym bottle, just until the replacement arrives! It seems to be working okay.

Dash Rendar
Thanks for the tip. The bottle isn't airtight, but I've put an extra (small) hole in the lid, just to be on the safe side.

Dash Rendar
I've just been considering buying one of these. This unit has four nozzles. I've just been speaking to the guy that sells them and he says that on a typical vehicle, you'd simply hose two of the nozzles together. The leaves two... One inlet and one outlet. He explained to me that the inlet is for the pressurized water coming through the rad cap, while the outlet feeds back to the bottom of the rad. But I'm only aware of the one hose at the top of the rad??? So, if he's right, then the home-made water bottle doesn't work because there is no feed back into the rad. SupraJames
Did not know Supras had a feed back to the rad..! The stock tank does not have one..!
SupraJames
I need a tank for mine, seems there is quite a few options..! Paul E have you got the shiny ones in stock.?
Ian C
The stock one has no return, it's got a pickup hose that goes to the bottom of the tank. As the coolant expands, it goes into the expansion tank, as it cools, it's sucked back into the radiator. That's all you need, but you *do* need it. I wouldn't run without one, you'll be low on coolant after one drive, and have lots of nice airlocks introduced. -Ian
Dash Rendar
So, if the hose from the rad only lets water through under high pressure, how does the water get back in? Or is it some sort of one-way valve?
Dash Rendar
Oh I see. In which case, the one I linked to is completely useless. Looks like I'm gonna have to spend a bit more and get the tres-bling one from Paul!
