SuperSupra
Still got my old car on Auto Trader at the mo, and I've had 4 e-mails and one phone call that are all from in my opinion - dodgy sources. The four e-mails are all from foreign people who's english is poor to say the least, asking for the condition, last selling price (why?) and they are all "buying for someone else". Has anyone else had similar problems when selling cars on Auto Trader? The phone call was from some company who said they were buying for their client, but none of these people have even seen the car yet!!! They were all asking for details too, name, address etc. Oh, and they all have "0703" numbers, any ideas? Dodgy gits. Here's a copy of one of the e-mails I received:- Hello, My name is casper, my client is interested in your car (quoted on the subject of my email), Payment is made by Certified Cheques/bankers draft and it will include EXCESS for the Clearing and Shipment. Your seeking price was £2,950. Payment will be issued and sent as soon as you forward the details stated below. The fact is that i have a very busy schedule and wont be able to come view the car, but i'd appreciate it if you'll send more pics especially of the interior, including the dash board and chairs, as my client would appreciate this, although he already loves the car from the pic he saw on the advert and he says its a beautiful machine and wants to go for it. I will contact my lawyer to prepare a document in backup of the sale as soon as you provide the informations to arrange payment if you have any questions, feel free to contact me on this number, :+447031845893, if its out of reach, try again later maybe i'm out of town due to my busy schedule, or just send me an email. Please get back to me with this information to enhance payment. 1. The condition of the car 2. Name on the payment slip(Certified Cheques/bankers draft ) .............. 3. Full contact Address including postal code........... 4. Tel/Personal mobile number ......... Looking forward to hear from you. casper

Pete
Selling a car has become very annoying. Most of the enquiries I got were people are either trying to rip you off or sell you advertising. A firm "Do you want to buy the car? No? Bugger off then!" usually sorted most of them out.

Not so much annoying as quite amusing, they're all "interested in buying the car" but seems EXTREMELY dodgy to me. Another one i got said she wanted to buy the car as her late husband promised to buy his son this exact car for his birthday!!! What a load of s**t! toyotasuprauk
Sounds like a scam where they want you to ship abroad and they pay you with stolen money out of someone's bank account that got the details from phissing. I am absolutely sick of these fraudsters! What ever you are trying to sell they are there with their scams.
