N/A VVTi Supra with Dastek Unichip dodgy dyno figure

Thanks nic. The unichip is mapped against boost pressure, and runs in combination with the boost controller to run optimal settings with (in my case) each of the five settings - off, 1, 2, 3 and 4. (I believe that bit makes up most of the difference in cost between the two prices).

The other advantage (for me) is that Dastek is across the road from my office (all the other good supra garages seem to be quite a bit away...).

Thanks Chris - that was a very educational reply!!

I understand what you are saying and doubt I will be dabbling with the engine much further after that!

I will try whittling a heat shield out of something and spend half a Sunday comparing that to the standard airbox to see how it "feels".

BTW - its a manual 'box - Gunmetal grey N/A VVTi 1999 reg Manual and in mint condition very rare I am told ?

Lovely, it would be a superb base for a really wild turbo car, as it will have the six speed getrag box, no doubt, but don't get too excited, the costs would be very high. But as you bin most of a stock TT engine to make a really wild one I always think the basis for a wild one might as well be the cheaper N/A version.

Have to disagree on the filter point. I've fitted 4 aftermarket filters to N/A,s ('Silver Machine' & Nic' club members)My own N/A, and a friend's

ALL were more responsive, especially bottom end.

Silver Machine, and Nic, both phoned me after fitting and said their cars went better..ditto my mate Danny who phoned after travelling 30 mls home

Can't be co-incidence or the 'placebo' effect, if there was no improvement why would they bother phoning to say "car goes a lot better?"
